Do you feel misunderstood? Are you unique, creative, an individual who marches to his or her own drum? Don’t be afraid to show your true colours—let them shine at Colours by Battistella!

This newest modern, imaginative condo project by Battistella Developments, located at First Street and 13th Avenue S.W., is bound to turn heads. With a living art wall of sleek, bright glass masking the aboveground parkade and Battistella’s signature European-style finishes and inventive floor plans inside, Colours is built to stand out.

“We feel like it’s going to be a landmark building for First Street,” says Glen Deibert, sales manager at Colours. “The mosaic glass wall feature should be phenomenal and stand out as a real highlight.”

Deibert adds that with 11 various floor plans plus ten unique penthouses, there is plenty of selection to capture anyone’s imagination. Each of the standard floor plans, which range from 650 to 955 square-feet, features a moveable partition wall that allow homeowners to customize their floor plan, possibly by adding another bedroom or by deciding to make their living room larger.

The suites are filled with contemporary, fashion-forward details, from decorative polished concrete floors and European style fixtures to granite countertops, flat-front cabinets and stainless steel appliances. Open floor plans with nine-and-a-half-foot ceilings and the moveable wall give a sense of freedom.

And as it turns out, “green” is the true colour of Colours. Features like dual-flush toilets, 18-inch dishwashers, hot water heating and low-E windows help to make Colours an environmentally friendly option. The project also incorporates eco-friendly materials and efficient appliances.

Buyers at Colours also have the chance to be healthier and more ecologically conscious in their transportation choices with encouragement from Battistella. Residents of the building will have access to 15 common property mountain bikes, as well as the option of joining in the community car program, sponsored by Battistella.

Green also describes the common outdoor space at Colours. A fully landscaped terrace will include contemporary, bright cloth canopy umbrellas and railings with bright fabric panels, while the concrete podium of the building will be adorned with coloured panels and living greenery growing along the wall.

The 24-storey, 208-unit building features heated underground parking plus two levels of aboveground parking, street-level retail, and ten two-storey penthouses. Deibert calls it “condo-fee friendly,” meaning its efficient use of common spaces and low-maintenance exterior equal lower condo fees and a lesser chance of surprise increases.

Buyers can feel confident with their choice to deal with Battistella Developments, a family-owned company that has been developing quality projects in Calgary since 1980. Some of their recent and recognizable projects include the Orange Lofts in the East Village and Chocolate on First Street.

“Great locations in areas that are set to explode have been key for us,” says Deibert. “They tend to appeal to people who have a lifestyle that is suited to living downtown.”
Buyers gain from the focus Battistella is able to provide by continuing to build one project at a time. They also enjoy the convenience and comfort that comes with dealing with the same person from start to finish. And as Deibert says, “We are all very involved in the whole process and understand the importance of putting in extra effort and of making decisions that benefit the client.” As a testimony of this, the majority of purchasers come from referrals from those who have previously purchased with Battistella.

Remaining Colours condos, including the penthouse suites, have just been released, and are quite affordable with units available starting in the low- to mid-$300,000s.
The project will be complete and ready for possessions in late 2008 / early 2009.

Interested buyers can visit http://www.battistella.ca or visit the sales centre at 192 15th Avenue S.W. from noon to 6 p.m., Monday to Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. If a meeting outside of sales centre hours or at a different location is more convenient, call 290-1664 to book an appointment.
