Good as gold
High River’s View at Sunrise never looked so chic for 50-plus buyers
High River is a place where a person can hang his or her hat and have access to a full-service hospital, golf courses and a recreation centre.
While enjoying a stroll along the town’s interconnected walking paths, generations are brought together.
The View at Sunrise is a semi-gated 44-unit adult complex loaded with features and amenities that would make any younger adult envious. From the lobby, courtyard, bistro and rec room to the mini theatre, reading room, guest suite and large social room, the design of the L-shaped complex hasn’t overlooked a single detail when it comes to relaxing and entertaining.
According to Doug Bender of Enzo Developments Inc., the complex is designed with easy-living detail, security considerations and convenience features that are important for the 50-plus buyer’s lifestyle in mind.
When designing the complex, Bender drew upon his experience living in condos in downtown Calgary and from informal surveys of potential buyers. He incorporated many features in The View, those that easily suit the lifestyle of anybody over the age of 50.
The View at Sunrise offers four floor plans for buyers to choose from ranging in size from 800-square-feet for the Aurora model to 1,031-square-feet for the Solaris model.
The tastefully-designed suites are perfect for people wanting to downsize from their large home, and are available in one-bedroom-plus-den and two-bedroom floor plans. Nine-foot ceilings, heated floors and a seven-appliance package are included as standard features. Purchasers like that their home does not end at their door—they also enjoy the ambiance of all the amenities and well-tended landscaped courtyard.
A quick elevator ride conveniently takes people from the first-floor secured heated parkade to suites, which all have a spacious balcony perfect for a barbecue or watching a beautiful sunrise in the morning, or sunset over the Rocky Mountains in the evening.
While attention to detail is apparent throughout the complex, perhaps the best selling feature of all is the price of the units—which range from $199,900 to $299,900.
“It’s far and away the most cost-effective way to live in a secure building,” said Bender. “They are economical compared to city living. When you compare pricing, High River is priced lower than what is available in Calgary per square foot, and has the advantage of a small-town atmosphere.”
Construction on The View at Sunrise began in late fall of 2005 and is now nearing completion. Even before advertising the development, nearly half of the units were sold and continue to be scooped up by an assortment of buyers from across the prairies. Purchasers are enthused to sell their house, buy a condo and put money in the bank.
For Bender, the rate at which the units are selling comes as no surprise.
“We knew that a development of this type would definitely be well received,” says Bender. “We have a nice mix of single men and women as well as couples. It’s a great place to meet people, while feeling safe and secure.”
The View at Sunrise is located at 43 Sunrise Loop in southeast High River. CL
