Nestled in an aspen grove and overlooking a pond surrounded by woods, Valmont at Aspen Stone will be an “elegant, yet rustic,” 257 unit condominium community in the southwest estate community of Aspen Stone.

The upcoming development by Today’s Communities is situated amid natural beauty, with built-in luxuries and access to a variety of nearby amenities.
“We believe the project has a superior location,” says Karl Parrington, president of Today’s Communities, emphasizing the proximity to 17th Avenue, shopping at West Hills, recreation (both indoors, at the Westside Recreation Centre, and outdoors at Canada Olympic Park or further west in the Rockies), and downtown (a 15 minute drive), as well as the natural surroundings of the trees, pond and pathways, and the estate setting. The community of Aspen Stone features estate homes starting at $750,000, as well as “gorgeous views of the Western foothills and the Rockies.”

“People are saying it’s the best location out there.”

Valmont at Aspen Stone has been carefully designed to best complement the backdrop against which it will be set. As Parrington puts it, the project “utilizes materials that blend in with the natural environment of the area,” with Hardiplank cedar siding and Coronado stone accents.

“Our focus was to make the outside just as important as the inside, so people are proud of where they live.”

The existing aspen grove will be preserved, with just three metres of clearance between each building and the surrounding trees, so the project will truly be tucked away amongst the trees. Below, within view, will be the two-tiered storm pond with walking paths.

Inside, the rustic, sophisticated feeling continues, with gas fireplaces, maple and alder cabinets, full tile kitchen backsplash and stainless steel appliances (range, refrigerator, dishwasher and over-the-range hood fan). Interiors also feature seven-pound carpet underlay, four-inch baseboards, nine-foot ceilings and the choice between three colour packages and three upgrade packages.

Each Valmont condo includes a balcony, storage locker and heated, underground parking, as well as state-of-the-art sound attenuation. There will be three suites for guests, which will be available for owners to rent.

Parrington also emphasizes the level of quality among the contractors. “I think what’s going to set us apart on this project is the level of professionals that we use.” Specifically, Summa Construcion Ltd., the main contractor on the project, has won numerous awards for wood and concrete construction, as well as warranty accolades.

Floor plans range in size from 700 to 1,431 square feet and include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and two-bedroom plus den layouts. Each plan features an open living area with kitchen, dining space and living room; most feature an ensuite bathroom, while some instead include a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom; and most also boast at least one walk-in or walk-through closet.

The Valmont show suite and sales centre is set to open on January 15, 2007. The show suite is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom model with a corner balcony and large master suite. It will be located at 125 Aspen Stone Blvd. SW. To get to Aspen Stone, take Bow Trail west from downtown to 85 St. SW. Take 85 St. south to Aspen Stone Blvd.

Possessions at Valmont at Aspen Stone are set to begin in early 2008.
