ALORA in Sunset Ridge

Aspirations of Cochrane condo life realized with Jayman

Jayman has never been a builder to make a move without careful consideration and research into an area before taking the leap. So it’s not surprising to learn that before expanding its homebuilding expertise into the foray of multi-family development back in 2001, the company did its homework.

The same goes for Alora in Sunset Ridge, Aspire Condo Living by Jayman’s introduction into the Cochrane market, which is set to open its sales centre and show suite May 5.
“It’s kind of the evolution for us. We always go on housing tours of the latest and greatest all over North America. We are always astounded by what we see and get a lot of ideas from them,” says Brian McIntyre, Chief Operating Officer for Aspire Condo Living by Jayman.

Drawing its influences from southern California, McIntyre says the project and its two-bedroom show suite will deliver some surprises. “No one has ever built or designed a show suite quite like this,” he says.

Also surprising has been the level of interest in Alora, with would-be buyers chomping at the bit for an opportunity to purchase, which McIntyre says won’t happen until opening weekend. A large showing of Calgarians from the northwest and even a handful now living in the southeast—some who are residents of the original Jayman condo project, the Aberdeen—have registered.

“It’s very encouraging this early in the process. I guess it is people who want to escape the city,” says McIntyre.

Ground breaking for the first building of 83 units is slated for June, while the second, 62-suite building will follow in the fall, and a third will round out the Alora project.
First residents are expected to come home to the beautiful setting of Cochrane’s Sunset Ridge, overlooking the Rockies, the town and the Bow River valley, in May of 2008. “It has tremendous views. As soon as we drove up to the site and saw the sight, we just knew we had to build there,” says McIntyre of the setting 20 minutes west of Calgary.

Amenities included for Alora residents’ use are convenient guest suites poised to house out-of-town visitors—with one planned for each building—and an amenities room planned for the final phase of Alora.

One-bedroom, one-bedroom-plus-den and popular two-bedroom units are up for grabs and will boast standards from four-inch baseboards, low-E windows, and nine-foot main ceilings, to maple shaker-style cabinetry with a choice of four stains, five appliances (including laundry), gas lines for barbecues on patios, and designer lighting packages. Suites will span from 582- to 940-square-feet and feature open living plans in innovative layouts, with options to add upgrades to personalize suites by visiting Jayman’s styleMagic centre and meeting with an interior designer.

Meanwhile, Alora residents can rest easy knowing they and their belongings are safe, thanks carded entries, secure storage lockers for stowing hobby items, and gated, heated underground parking or surface stalls sewn into ownership for a truly low-maintenance condo lifestyle.

And just as secure will be their investments, with rock detailing, professional landscaping and trees galore adding to the value of the project. CL
