Unbridled Popularity

SOUTHWEST CONDOMINIUMS EARNING TOP POINTES WITH BUYERS

WITH THE DEVELOPER’S ADDRESSES dotting the city landscape in virtually every direction, its no surprise Pointe of View’s reasonable offerings are still earning points with buyers, after 25 years in the business, and Bridlecrest Pointe is no exception.

Spurred by the popularity of another Pointe of View bestseller, nearby Bridleview Pointe, Bridlecrest provides another option for those interested in home ownership in the coveted southwest. But in addition to well-priced and sized suites, this 246-home instalment has trotted in some pretty unique scenery to the mix.

“What’s most unique about this project is we’re building it around an Aspen grove. It’s a natural area people can see from their windows and also walk through,” says Clark Hogan, general manager, sales and marketing for Pointe of View Developments.

And keeping with what works with buyers, suites are primarily two-bedrooms and larger than average in the current market of shrinking sizes and growing pricetags.
“These are our proven plans — 900-square-feet to 1,135-square-feet  — with two bedrooms and one or two baths,” says Hogan, adding larger suites also include dens.

For amenities, residents won’t have far to travel from Bridlecrest doors. The shopping Mecca of Shawnessy — with its supermarkets, big-box and outlet stores, restaurants, services and even a ten-plex movie theatre — and outdoor playground of Fish Creek Park are a quick jaunt away by car. Meanwhile, C-Train stations are near for those who don’t drive, and slated to get even closer at hand, when the line expands further south. And equestrian enthusiasts are just a gallop away from Spruce Meadows off Highway 22X.
“There is a lot of development along 24th Street. This is really one of the last pieces of the puzzle,” says Hogan.

In-house extras were purposely left out, to pare down condo fees and suite prices for residents, says Hogan. “We try to keep the costs down so we don’t typically add amenities to any of our suburban projects — our aim is to provide affordable housing. The amenities are really all around you from this project.”

As always with Pointe of View, would-be residents who are looking to make their suites standouts have the option of visiting the design centre and swanking up their Bridlecrest digs. And many are going that route, explains Hogan.

“We do entry-level specifications as a standard, but everybody has the chance to upgrade any surface at the Design Centre. Every buyer has their own preference, but people are typically going to higher-end appliances — stainless steel is popular now — and laminate and ‘hard floors’ as opposed to soft ones are also popular. Some people are going to the nines, with granite countertops, full wood cabinets, and stainless appliances, they are making theirs little jewel boxes.”
For those just looking to get into a home of their own, a slew of features are already included, from five appliances (washers and dryers among them), to a heated underground parking garage and secure storage lockers.

Now selling since October 15, Bridlecrest Pointe is galloping ahead of schedule, with sales on the third building of a slated five now well underway. Prices start at $284,900 before GST, up to $293,900 for massive, 1,135-square-foot two-bedroom-and-bath suites with dens.

A show suite is open Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., closed Fridays, and open again on the weekend from noon through 5 p.m. Located at 2122, 2371 Eversyde Avenue S.W., it is just a few blocks from the Bridlecrest Pointe site. To get there, take Macleod Trail south, turn right on 162 Avenue, right on 24 Street and again onto Eversyde Avenue. CL
