The allure of Alora
Cochrane’s charming countryside beckons condo dwellers
Sitting on a quiet hillside in the picturesque community of Sunset Ridge in Cochrane is what could very well be the best condo deal in town.
Aspire Condo Living by Jayman has truly outdone itself with the Alora. The beauty of the countryside surrounds you, majestic views of the Rockies greet you every morning when you wake up, and the friendly warmth of a family-oriented neighbourhood provides a nurturing environment. And, best of all, for a limited time, buyers can live here mortgage-free for a year.
“We’ve had a really strong response to the deal,” says Aspire’s area sales manager Lyle Jessett. “We’re more than 80 per cent sold in the two buildings we currently have and we’ve seen a noticeable increase in traffic at the show suite from the past few months.”
A 10 per cent down payment enables buyers to live mortgage and interest-free for 12 months in Alora. Even a modest down payment of just five per cent ensures you can get a sweet deal in one of the best condos in town, he adds. Phone or visit the show suite for more details.
The apartment-style condominium complex boasts an exterior with definite pastoral influence and a neo-classical style with a rich blend of natural shades and brick detail to seamlessly fit into the scenery.
Each building has a commanding view of the scenic countryside and the snow-capped Rockies nearby, and each suite is designed to specifically make the best of these awe-inspiring views with large windows, spacious decks and nine-foot ceilings that bring the freedom of the outdoors inside.
Ultimately, the Alora will have 225 apartment-style condos in three buildings with seven distinct floor plans to fit any lifestyle. Units are available in one- or two-bedroom models ranging in size from 625 square-feet to 1,027 square-feet.
Jessett says each unit features efficient, Energy Star appliances and high-end detailing such as maple flat-panel cabinetry, ceramic tile backsplashes and Low-E windows.
“Our condos appeal to a very wide range of buyers, from singles to young families, to retirees and snow birds, who appreciate the kind of maintenance-free living we offer,” he tells Condo Living. “We’ve put a lot of detail into the units—this is someone’s home.”
The Cascade, a 920-square-foot, two-bedroom show suite, displays that detail. Modern cork flooring combined with a rustic brick feature wall lends natural flair to the contemporary space, while oversized windows flood the great room, kitchen and nook with sunlight. “Although the cork floor and brick details are upgrades, our standard package is still set higher than most,” Jessett says.
Extra care was also taken in ensuring soundproofing of each unit, with double sub floors between floors and there is almost a foot of wall space separating party walls and other common areas. “The sound proofing here is incredible, despite all the landscaping work still being done in the surroundings, you don’t hear it when you’re inside the suite,” Jessett says.
The amenities available in-house are also quite unique, including the grand foyer at the entrance which gives a very welcoming, five-star hotel-lobby ambience that enriches the feeling of arriving home each day. Each building has a guest suite, which Jessett says has proven very handy to residents. Each unit also gets two parking stalls and two-bedroom units also get an underground storage space. Buildings also have at least one elevator.
Alora is just a short bike ride to the centre of Cochrane, with all its unique shops and restaurants, and is just 30 minutes drive to downtown Calgary. There are shuttle buses available in town for an easy, relaxing commute to work and back.
Starting at $174,000, the prices are very affordable given the value each unit has, and, of course, the limited time offer they have on one-year mortgage-free living gives Alora that much more allure. cl
