As Calgary experiences remarkable increases in population many potential home buyers are looking at purchasing a condominium. High-rise condos are a much needed solution to Calgary’s urban sprawl, and Arcus Developments Inc. has decided it’s time that they offered Calgarians a chance to live in style and comfort in the company’s first downtown tower project.

Arcus Developments Inc. is working on the future development of several projects including, the Jumping Pound Ridge Community in Cochrane, the Grant MacEwan Condo Development in Edmonton and the Douglas Glen Condo Village in Calgary. As well, with vacation homes Costa del Sol on Ambergis Caye in Belize, they are no strangers to providing beautiful living spaces.

Astoria on 10th will offer approximately 229 suites housed in an attractive 33-storey sandstone and stucco high-rise. Designed by Kirkor Architects %26 Planners out of Toronto in conjunction with the Tarjan Group of Calgary, the high-peaked roofline and Art Deco flair of Astoria on 10th will offer a contemporary yet timeless look. Michele Fischer, Account Manager with Selling Systems Inc. who is marketing the project, says that the building will have a very classic New York style of architecture.

“Astoria on 10th is reminiscent of such buildings as the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel or the Chrysler Building” says Fischer. “It will have a definite Art Deco architectural flavour.”

Astoria on 10th will incorporate retail space on the ground level, and will offer commercial office space on the second and third floors. The first of the residential floors will offer an amenity centre with a fitness area and meeting area. Outside of the amenity centre Astoria on 10th will offer homeowners an incredible rooftop space with a fantastic place to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful gardens.

The residential floors of Astoria on 10th will include suites ranging from 580 to 772 square-feet for one-bedroom and one-bedroom-plus-den suites and 879 to 1,113 square-feet for the two-bedroom suites. The interior design was provided by Jerilyn Wright %26 Associates and incorporates elegant spaces with superior standard features.

Hardwood flooring and Berber carpets complement contemporary cabinetry and luxurious granite countertops, along with stylish stainless steel appliances. Astoria on 10th offers three professionally designed finishing packages to choose from, ensuring each suite is designed with your unique tastes and lifestyle in mind.

“Located on the corner of 10th Avenue and 9th Street S.W., Astoria on 10th is within walking distance to fine dining, dancing, theatres, galleries and many other core amenities downtown has to offer,” says Fischer.  “It’s also perfect for those who work downtown as residents have a quick walk to work. In the morning, there is no need to even pull the car out of the garage.”

The Astoria on 10th Presentation Centre, located at #110 – 999 8th Street S.W., boasts a fully furnished show suite set to open soon.
