Two Towers Are Better Than One
Five West by the LaCaille Group the height of finishing and location
Imagine a home that offers spectacular views and proximity to almost every amenity you could ever need or want. Imagine living in Calgary’s downtown core; enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and being within walking distance of various art galleries, shops, restaurants and parks. If you can imagine living in a location that offers you all this and more, you are imagining Five West by the LaCaille Group.
This twin-tower project has already begun construction on its second phase, with the first tower already occupied. The second tower, 28 storeys high, with approximately 160 units, is due to be completed by the end of the year, with possessions in January 2008.
Calvin Buss, president and CEO of Calgary’s Buss Marketing (formally known as the Millennium Group), says that this twin-tower development is definitely a condominium worth taking a look at. “It’s finished well and well-located. We find that it’s one of the better buildings in Calgary,” says Buss, who has more than 29 years of experience under his belt in real estate.
These attractive towers overlook the Louise Bridge into Kensington and are just a block from the river. With access to the Bow River pathway and the pedestrian bridge into Kensington, residents can enjoy the fresh air and leisurely walks. Whether it’s to beautiful Prince’s Island Park, or into Kensington to explore the trendy shops and cafes, excitement is only a short stroll away. If you aren’t in the mood for walking, transportation is a snap with the LRT running through the downtown core, leading to such centres as The Bay, TD Square and the Eaton’s Centre, not to mention Stephen Avenue Mall with its shops, galleries and the Glenbow Museum. Whether it is arts, entertainment, or fine dining, it’s all easily accessible from Five West.
The project not only boasts a fabulous location, but the architecture of the towers is visually stunning. Quality brick and stone are complemented by the elegant blue-tinted glass and blend the architectural style of a New York building with the elegance of European construction. The building includes heated underground and above-ground parking as well as secure bike storage/parking and a carwash in the parkade so that your car never has to leave home dirty. Along with a parking stall, residents also get an additional storage locker which helps eliminate clutter in the home.
As you enter Five West’s elegant lobby you are greeted by the concierge service and you can choose from the two high-speed elevators to quickly take you to your suite. There is also a sixth-floor amenities area that includes an attractive gas fireplace and doors leading out to the landscaped outdoor terrace—an area designed specifically
for entertaining guests and enjoying outdoor barbecues.
Phase Two offers about a half-dozen different floor plans including the popular one-bedroom 725-square-foot Broadway and the attractive two-bedroom 1,014-square-foot Manhattan. Al Schmidt, vice-president of the LaCaille Group, says the floorplans are designed to maximize space so you feel like you are living in a much larger area. “We really focus on the quality of the layout and the floorplans which is something that is a little more difficult in a high-rise development,” says Schmidt. “The quality of the design is such that it is contributing to the quality of your lifestyle and we are extremely proud of that. It is the most challenging aspect of a high-rise development, but we put more effort into this than many other companies.”
Not only are the floorplans amazing in this development, but the attention to detail has also created a stunning array of anything-but-standard included features. Granite countertops, full-height maple cabinetry, upgraded stainless steel appliances (including a fridge with a built-in icemaker, self-cleaning oven, dishwasher, microwave and hood fan), are just some of the elegant features that Five West residents can expect. As well, each suite is air-conditioned and includes an attractive gas fireplace and ceiling heights approaching nine feet; something that you don’t always get in a high-rise development.
“Eager urban dwellers are proud to call LaCaille’s Five West two-tower project home, thanks to the exquisite floor plans and unbeatable location,” says Schmidt. “These are some of the best one- and two-bedroom plans in the market.”
Units in Phase Two start at $400,000 and up, and if you are interested in learning more about this incredible development, do so quickly as Five West is already nearly 85 per cent sold out. If you are a discerning homebuyer who enjoys the pace of living downtown, you’ll want to see what Five West is all about. CL
