A river runs by it
An idyllic riverside setting with a cool urban vibe is the captivating charm of Riverfront Pointe
Calgary’s newest condo complex near the Bow River not only has a terrific location by the scenic waterway but also exudes a hip urban vibe that will set the tone for the exciting new East Village development to come.
The two-building project developed by Pointe of View will not just be a pleasant addition to Calgary’s teeming downtown skyline, but is seen also as a terrific start for the planned revitalization of East Village — a long range plan that will see the area just east of the downtown core reborn as a new cultural, social and commercial centre for the city.
“It will be the newest residential buildings to go up in East Village and it will hopefully create a trend, because the area is really spectacular and is just ripe for future development,” says Pointe of View marketing manager Clark Hogan.
Riverfront Pointe will consist of two towers; one is a nine-storey, 74-suite building, and the other is 19 storeys with 174 suites. It will have a very modern, contemporary feel to it but, as it is a Pointe of View development, it will still remain affordable. For a limited time offer, prices start at $299,900 for a 712-square-foot, one-bed one-bath suite in the nine-storey low rise, and a two-bedroom starts at $499,900.
“Almost all units have unobstructed views of the Bow River, the cityscape, the majestic Rockies and the surrounding prairie lands of southern Alberta,” Hogan says.
Units will have that “progressive urban living” appeal, says Riverfront Pointe’s sales associate Stephanie Allen. “They will have that simple-but-elegant feel with the amenities that cosmopolitan dwellers expect from a downtown high rise,” she tells Condo Living.
Suites feature spacious modern kitchens with contemporary 90-degree profile wrap-edge cabinetry, finished with stylish brushed stainless steel fixtures and luxurious, hand-set ceramic tile flooring. Bathrooms will also have the same type of cabinetry with contemporary brushed stainless steel fixtures.
“The design of the units are very flexible and you can customize them to fit your personal needs,” she says.
But, chic finishings aside, what really attracts buyers to Riverfront Pointe is its spectacular location. It is just minutes away from Eau Claire market and downtown shopping and bike and rollerblade paths and walking trails are right at the doorstep.
“It is a truly carefree lifestyle, leave your car at the parking lot (each suite has its own titled slot in the heated underground parking) and walk to work or to the nearby restaurants and theatres and art galleries and the rest of Calgary’s lively nightlife,” Allen says. “The rest of the city is pretty accessible as well, as it is near major thoroughfares and the LRT is but a few steps away.”
Hogan says the development of East Village bodes well for the future of Riverfront Pointe. “It will be a unique downtown district, blending various types of housing with commercial and community facilities to serve local residents and downtown workers. The project is still in the infant stages, but recent private sector development of new condo units in the area show promise that the plan will be well received.”
It may be in the breathtaking views, the relaxing sound of the river nearby or the incredible location. At Riverfront it’s not about one or the other. It’s the perfect blend of them all.
