Strikingly situated in the Bow Valley just a quick one hour jaunt west on the number one highway, the picturesque mountain town of Canmore is surrounded by the awe inspiring peaks of the Rocky Mountains, natural wildlife corridors, cascading waterfalls and wildflower meadows. All of this natural beauty provides a springboard for a bevy of outdoor adventures from mountain biking and hiking to some of the world’s best skiing and golfing. The town also is home to Three Sisters Mountain Village with its resort style ambiance and amenity laden structure.“ Canmore is a place that we believe has long term value,” says Christopher Wein, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Assured Developments. “It is just beginning to gain international appeal.”

Known as a design centric builder that emphasizes innovation, efficient use of space and environmental responsibility, Assured has established itself as a premiere recreational homebuilder within this mountain environment with their Colliers Ridge and Colliers Creek developments.   They are building upon this success with two new recreational mountainside projects -  each with its own special appeal: Blackstone Mountain Lodge and Paintbrush Ridge.

A mountain retreat located in the heart of Canmore, Blackstone Mountain Lodge is well under construction with occupancy expected in the spring of 2007.  Suites range from one bedroom to three bedrooms plus den and all are elegantly furnished. Amenities include a concierge service, an outdoor pool, two hot tubs, a fitness room, two massage rooms and a meeting/flex room.  When owners are not using their suites, they can be placed into an optional rental pool managed by Bellstar Resorts and Hotels.  “Units start at $380,000, which is a great price point. With Blackstone Mountain Lodge, you can invest in Canmore, while earning revenue income and enjoying the amenities of a four star hotel,” says Wein. For more information go to http://www.blackstonecanmore.ca or visit the presentation center at 802 Main Street, Canmore.

The second project, Paintbrush Ridge, is located on a spectacular property on the edge of a bluff within the Three Sisters Mountain Village.  The development will consist of 92 homes all of which will offer panoramic 360-degree views of the mountains and the Bow Valley. ‘It is an incredible piece of land,” says Wein. “ Here the sky is your canvas. It is probably one of the best viewpoints by far in Canmore.”

Phase one is comprised of 24 luxurious town homes and V.I.P. sales are set to launch on June 28th. “ Architecturally, what we are doing here is a little different than what has traditionally been done in Canmore,” says Wein. The styling is coined Alpine Contemporary and what you’ll see is clean lines and lots of natural materials used in a sophisticated and sleek fashion. “We are going with a more modern interpretation of natural materials,” explains Wein. Think along the lines of a European alpine experience with exterior detailing that includes exposed timbres and decorative gable type dormers that are inverted to give interest and texture. As well, keeping the impact on the surrounding environment to a minimum, Paintbrush Ridge will be a Built Green certified project.

Design layouts are very open with full ten foot ceilings on the main floors. Eight floor plans are available ranging from 1400 square feet to 2000 square feet and many units walkout onto private terraces overlooking the bluff or onto fully landscaped green space backing onto parkland.  “We wanted to create a sense of volume both with the interior space and the exterior design,” says Wein. The look is elegant, clean and simple. Oversized windows take advantage of the incredible views.

One of the signature features of the town homes is the indoor/outdoor gas fireplace. Framed in stone the two-way glass fireplace is inset into the exterior living room wall allowing views through to the outside scenery. With this innovative design when you are outside on your deck you will also be able to enjoy the warmth and ambiance of the fire.

Wein explains that the standard spec package is sophisticated and features include stone countertops, hardwood floors, ceramic tile, Kohler fixtures, spa like ensuites and KitchenAid stainless steel appliances including a wine fridge. In keeping with the paintbrush theme, six colour palettes have been pulled from works by the Group of Seven and are aptly named after the artists.

“Our vision is to create an extraordinary experience for the homeowner,” explains Wein. With their unparalleled location and views, as well as their impressive and exciting designs, the town homes at Paintbrush Ridge should fulfill that mandate with ease.
