The Mesa at Crystal Shores
Cove Properties building the perfect lifestyle in Okotoks
A mesa, according to Collins English Dictionary, is “a flat tableland with steep edges, common in the southwest”. What’s missing from that definition when referring to The Mesa at Crystal Shores in Okotoks is “with a commanding view of the Rocky Mountains”.
Perched atop a plateau above the Sheep River Valley at the north end of Okotoks, The Mesa at Crystal Shores is another quality condominium project from local developer Cove Properties Ltd. and is truly “resort style living, with small town charm”.
The Crystal Shores neighborhood “will stay relaxed and community oriented for some time” states Brian Cassidy, Mesa’s Sales Manager, “and with the Crystal Ridge Golf Course located directly across the street from the project, a tranquil and peaceful setting will exist for owners and visitors alike to enjoy.”
With the Okotoks Town Council putting a cap on the Town’s population at 30,000 persons, The Mesa has captured a premier location in the community which neither time nor future developers will be able to alter. “We have an ideal location” explains Mr. Cassidy, “our purchaser’s appreciate that and really see its value once they move into the project.”
All purchasers at The Mesa automatically become members of the Crystal Shores Lake Community Association, which affords them the opportunity to use and enjoy the 3,500 square foot amenities building, which includes fitness centre, indoor hot tub, steam room, meeting/social room, games room/billards, refreshment bar, and last (but not least) the beautiful recreational lake located in the center of the community. “We have an ambiance in
Okotoks which exudes a small town friendliness but with all of the 21st century conveniences at your fingertips,” says Mr. Cassidy.
“At The Mesa, we have a variety of purchasers who have decided to live in Okotoks because of what it has, and sometimes more importantly for what it doesn’t have such as the congestion, over building and relative anonymity of the big city. There are young professionals who make the quick commute to Calgary each day, and there are retirees who enjoy the relative tranquility here at Crystal Shores”, explains Mr. Cassidy. The Okotoks Town Center, filled with a variety of services including antique shops, boutiques, restaurants and wellness establishments is a quick drive or a leisurely ten minute walk from The Mesa.
The southern side of Okotoks is home to the larger, more recently arrived big box stores such as Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Safeway, Sobeys and Co-op.“Many young people from Calgary have moved here for our affordability, and in turn this has drawn the parents closer to their children and grandchildren. The process has really been very intriguing,” says Mr. Cassidy. “Many people who live at The Mesa work in Calgary and love living here.
From MacKenzie Town or Shawnessy, it is twelve minutes to The Mesa. It is literally two songs and a newscast away,” laughs Mr. Cassidy. “People are very surprised at just how quick it is to get to and from Calgary, particularly from our location here in Okotoks.”The Mesa’s 996 square-foot two bedroom, two bathroom show suite is tastefully decorated.
The foyer is large and features slate tiles and a double mirrored closet. The stackable washer and dryer are located in a closet including built-in storage. Granite countertops in the kitchen as well as bathrooms, plus maple cabinetry and an upgraded Frigidaire Gallery Series of appliances are coordinated beautifully. Ceramic tile backsplashes and undermounted sinks are also found in the kitchen and ensuite, plus second bathroom. The open, yet cozy living room includes a gas fireplace inside and patio outside the sliding glass doors. High ceilings throughout the unit add to its sense of space and airiness. The bedrooms are generously sized with large windows. In the master suite, a walk-through closet leads to the bath with soaking tub. The guest bedroom features a double closet with mirrored sliding doors. Suites range in size from one bedroom and den at 745 square feet to two bedrooms and den between 905 and 1030 square feet.
Prices start at $200,000. Condo fees begin at $200 per month, excluding telephone, electricity and purchaser’s choice of Shaw Cable or Bell Express Vu. CL
