Aberdeen
Built on Jayman Tradition of Great Value
Aberdeen on the Park has a quaint name playing on the Scottish heritage of the Mackenzie Towne development.
But this latest Jayman condominium project, in the heart of the Village of Prestwick, is all about state of the art construction, comfort and style. “All of the floorplans are named after Scottish towns and cities,” says area sales manager Marlene Crews, whose Scottish lilt and friendly demeanor make you feel right at home before heading on a tour of the just opened show suites. (The grand opening was held January 22.)
The hallways are your first clue that Jayman is doing it right. A liberal use of crown moldings and wide baseboards guide you down to each doorway, which feature a handsome numbered sign and quaint lighting. The first suite Marlene takes me to is the Ashdon a 914 square foot model that demonstrates all of the standard features plus a few upgrades to give the future owner an idea of how to personalize the space. It’s a surprisingly roomy 914 square feet with two bedrooms a decent sized bath and an open living room/dining room/kitchen. The kitchen alone tells you just how much Jayman considers quality when planning standard features. Tile on the floor, full tile backsplash, 42” cabinets with crown molding, raised eating bar, full appliance package (shown here in black) and brushed chrome lighting fixtures. Even the balconies feature gas hook ups for barbecues. The windows are large allowing for lots of light. “Its one of our most popular floor plans,” Marlene says as I check out the smart built-in desk nook (a design feature I would definitely add to my list).
Next, it’s down the hall to one of the corner units that all include fireplaces in the base price and my jaw drops when Marlene opens the door to the Banffshire Suite. Its 1036 square feet with gorgeous upgrades: granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, deep stain on the cabinets, hardwood flooring, dark painted doors and trim, all create a rich and inviting home that would be so easy in imagine oneself in.
“Its an elegant décor and it shows the space fabulously,” she adds. This plan features two bedrooms, two baths. There are a variety of floor plans available in the Aberdeen ranging from 668 square feet up to 1133 square feet . The first building holds 32 units and the second building begins construction this spring for a total of 64 units. Possessions are available as soon as April, which is keeping Marlene’s phone ringing. “You get an enormous amount of value in a Jayman home,” Marlene says, “you are getting a lot of features in your base price and the beauty of choosing to buy with Jayman is their amazing 14,000 square foot styleMagic Centre where you get to work with an interior designer and choose from hundreds of home finishing options.”
The Aberdeen’s architecture blends into the quaint personality of the area with neo-traditional architecture. Crafted stone façades, decorative shakes and smart trim all create an old world style with modern sensibilities. The location of the Aberdeen has drawn lots of interest with three acres of beautiful parkland at its doorstep. Tree lined streets, shops and services near by, easy access to the Deerfoot; the Aberdeen offers the best of everything including a sense of community. Overlooking the miniaturized model of the area, Marlene points out several of the advantages of the location, “We are right on the park, a quick walk across takes you to the main boulevard and connects you to the C-train feeder bus and an Express bus runs direct to downtown.” Plus you are literally minutes from the Deerfoot without feeling like you live on top of it. The west side of the Aberdeen is slated for estate homes, enhancing the low-density appeal of the area.
The show suites are open Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Marlene would love to give you a personalized tour and tell you which one of the floor plans is named after her hometown.
