Fresh ideas add to appeal of Mosaic of Elgin Hill
Mosaic of Elgin Hill brings fresh new ideas to condominium townhomes, with three unique models at attractive prices.
To name just one example of Hawthorne Homes’ innovations, the Mosaic of Elgin Hill neatly solves the parking problem. Each unit has its own single or double garage in the basement, with access from the rear.
The result? No struggle for on-street parking, no long treks from an outdoor lot, and a much more attractive streetscape. Instead of garage doors facing the street, the Mosaic will present a vista of small, welcoming front gardens. It will be a handsome addition to McKenzie Towne.
The interiors are equally innovative, with options that offer buyers significant choices, not merely cosmetic variations.
At prices starting from the $140,000s to the $160,000s, the Mosaic of Elgin Hill offers three basic models ranging from 1,148 square feet to 1,274 square feet.
All three models have a great room at the front, a foyer, and a half-bath on the main floor. Buyers can choose between mid and rear kitchens.
A mid kitchen separates the great room at the front from the dining area at the rear of the main floor. A rear kitchen combines the dining area and the great room into one space. In some floor plans, the rear kitchen includes a flex space that’s large enough for an eating area.
Upstairs, the Mosaic at Elgin Hill offers more innovative thinking. Every model is available with dual master bedrooms – two bedrooms, each with a full ensuite bath.
This unconventional arrangement would be ideal for many households. The second master bedroom could be used by a room-mate, by a teen-aged (or older) child, or by frequent visitors from out of town. For that matter, it could be used by a spouse who snores.
Other variations have two or three bedrooms with one or two bathrooms on the second floor.
The Stirling is the smallest model in the Mosaic range, with floor areas from 1,148 to 1,152 square feet. It has a single garage plus a spacious laundry and utility room in the basement.
On the main floor of the Stirling, there’s a choice of mid or rear kitchen. Upstairs, buyers can choose dual master bedrooms, or two bedrooms sharing one bath that opens onto the upstairs hall.
The Edinburg, ranging from 1,237 to 1,261 square feet, has a double garage, laundry and utility space in the basement. There’s a balcony at the back of the main floor, opening onto the kitchen or the dining area, depending which variation is chosen.
Three different bedroom layouts are available in the Edinburg: a dual master bedroom, three bedrooms sharing one bathroom, or three bedrooms – one with an ensuite, the other two sharing a second bathroom.
The Abbotsford, ranging from 1,236 to 1,274 square feet, offers a choice of double garage or oversized single garage in the basement, with a spacious laundry and utility room.
This model has a split-level layout that allows a higher ceiling in the great room. The kitchen and dining room are a few steps up from the great room. Again, the kitchen can be at the middle or the rear of the floor plan. A rear balcony is available on some units.
Upstairs, the Abbotsford offers dual master bedrooms, or three bedrooms sharing one bathroom.
Furnished examples of all three models are open for viewing on-site at 284 Elgin Way S.E. Show homes are open from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday and on holidays.
