Life is just getting interesting when you reach your fifties. Your children have probably started their own families, and your home may seem a little deserted, however, in many cases this is when more of your time can be devoted to personal interests and activities.

Hobbies can more easily be pursued and travel may be an attractive consideration now that you have more time on your hands. Unfortunately, there are still many time-consuming tasks involved with maintaining a house.

Shoveling snow in the winter, mowing grass in the summer, raking leaves in the fall; these are some of those inconveniences, not to mention the numerous other maintenance needs that a house requires. Another disadvantage to living in a house can be the stairs that must be negotiated day after day. For some, these aspects may pose no problem, but for others it can make daily living more difficult to endure. For these individuals or couples, the advantages of moving to a condominium are becoming more and more attractive.

What better place to explore this option than in the town of Cochrane? Timko Developments offers Mountain View Terrace, an exclusive condominium for active adults 55 or over, who enjoy the best that life has to offer without sacrificing freedom and elegant living. Only 45 minutes away from the majestic Rockies, Cochrane is snugly situated within the foothills and offers the friendly atmosphere of a small town, combined with a charmingly active downtown core. The town offers an extensive pathway system, great for getting out and enjoying the outdoors, two golf courses and plenty of other recreational facilities. All this and much more, only 15 minutes away from the city of Calgary.

Mountain View Terrace provides the freedom to get out and enjoy life, but this condominium also gives residents a comfortable place to enjoy when they wish to stay at home. There are several common areas throughout the building that allow residents to meet and enjoy the company of others. The main community room and its large fireplace offer a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the view. As well, there is a pool table, a wet bar, a full kitchen and an outdoor patio where friends can get together and enjoy a cup of coffee. This room can also be reserved for special functions. There is also a meeting room where condo-meetings can be held, which could double for an arts and crafts area. As well there is another common area that has potential to be an exercise room, and let us not forget the special visitor suite. This suite can be rented for out-of-town company, and includes a four-piece bathroom. Even if you decide to stay at home, Mountain View Terrace offers plenty of ways to stay active and meet new people.

Of course there are plenty more attractive features here, such as one underground parking stall per suite, an indoor carwash bay and full elevator service. The whole building is wheel chair accessible and there is a security system in all ground floor suites to ensure complete safety. Also the front entrance is card locked to further ensure the security of the building and each suite is pre-wired for emergency call buttons. Security features aside, the suites themselves are very attractive. There are ten different floor plans ranging from a cozy 660 square feet, all the way up to an expansive 1325 square feet. With nine-foot ceilings throughout, and large bright windows, each of these units has an open sunshiny feel to them. In addition, each suite has a balcony with a nice view and storage area, perfect for enjoying the fresh morning air or relaxing at the end of a day.

Each suite comes standard with warm oak cabinetry and trim, which is carried throughout the entire building; be it the stairwells or the common areas. However, the pre-purchased suites can be designed to specific tastes and colour choices. The nice thing about the kitchen cabinetry is that there is an abundance of huge drawers that allow for easier accessibility and convenience. Also included are five appliances, including an attractive fridge, stove and dishwasher, along with a washer and dryer. All the conveniences of a larger home are here, without the inconveniences to go with them.

There are many more advantages to moving to Mountain View Terrace, but it’s probably a good idea to take a look for yourself to see all that they have to offer. Possession dates start at the end of March, and there are only 18 suites left, so if living an active lifestyle without the upkeep of a house interests you, Mountain View Terrace is just a short drive away. Located at 72 Quigley Drive in Cochrane, the show suite is open Friday to Wednesday, 1-5 pm, and 3-8pm on Thursdays. If nothing else, it’s a scenic drive and you can enjoy a delicious Cochrane ice cream while you’re there.
