Condo penthouses have sweet smell of success

“They’re the most unique spaces that we’ve created,” says company owner Paul Battistella. “The penthouses are all two-storeys with an open loft concept and volumes of windows in each of the kitchen/living room areas.”

There are five Chocolate penthouses ranging from 1,541 to 1,883 square feet with two bedrooms and bath and a half. The finishing style is something you would expect from a high-end penthouse unit from on top of a 20-story building in a very good location – luxurious moderate contemporary. Access to each of the penthouse units will be secure. Only people who live on that floor will have the security authorization to get to that floor. You can also expect video surveillance security and heated underground parking.

The open concept of the main floor space – kitchen, dining room, living room, and den – is dramatically accented by massive amounts of window. Floor to ceiling windows wrap around the entire main level of the unit. “In certain sections of the living room space, they actually soar up to 16 feet in height,” adds Battistella. “The drama when you walk in will be created by the amount of glass and light and the fantastic views. That’s going to be the most striking piece when you walk in.”

As you would anticipate in such an exceptional and unique creation, finishings will include traditional hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and very modern, very high-end bathroom fixtures.

Battistella has conceived an exclusive and original abode. The contemporary modern design adds to the feel and flavor of the views and the glass.

Upstairs are two bedrooms with large en suite highlighting a tiled tub, modern bathroom fixtures, and seamless glass. While the master bedroom will be more traditionally enclosed, the second bedroom will be open to the main floor living space. That means the drama of light and panoramic views will reach up into the upper floor.

While the kitchen, dining room, and living room are punctuated by the spectacular accompaniment of light and glass, each of these penthouses include approximately 400 to 500 feet of large outside terraces. Battistella also offers a couple of design options and provides each purchaser the opportunity to coordinate their penthouse finishing with an interior designer.

“When you’re that high, you’ll have the sensation of the height, which adds to the drama of people’s perception. You’re on top of everything else and looking at everything that lies out before you.”

Located at 1302 – 1 Street SW, even the surrounding neighborhood is in a vivid transformation. ”It’s probably one of the most urban-retailed pedestrian-orientated streets we’re going to have in the city.  You’ve got O’Connors anchoring one end of 1st Street and with Formans at the other. Our buyer will likely frequent these and other shops in the neighborhood.”

Don’t forget the 30-second walk to the Talisman Center and the parkland that backs onto the river. That, with the downtown core only a five-minute walk and a handy distance to professional sports and theatre events, makes these Chocolate penthouses one of the most sought-after residences in the city.

It’s a truly urban experience.
