Copperfield Crossing
Trico Homes condos offer plenty of space for the price
If you’re heading south to catch some stunning vistas of wide open country, then set some time aside to visit the quaint village of Copperfield. This charming area, just 25 minutes southeast of Calgary’s downtown, just happens to be the locale for Trico Homes latest town home project – Copperfield Crossing. Marketing Manager Tim Tam enthuses that these homes will appeal to just about everyone looking for an affordable investment. “These homes are great for first time buyers, or new families. You have privacy, you don’t have to cut the lawn and you get lots of square footage for the price.”
The project is designed in an enclosed horseshoe shape and is comprised of several buildings offering three architectural themes defined by varying rooflines, window design and colour scheme. The result is a unique and varied streetscape surrounded by lots of landscaped green space. “It will be like living in an old world village. Each home has a uniqueness and there is a real sense of community,” comments Tam.
With Copperfield Crossing, Trico Homes has created three split-level floor plans of 1384 square feet. Essentially, these designs are almost identical except for the configuration of the bedrooms. Each home plan provides a single attached garage and fully finished lower level flex room. The main level boasts a large great room with ceilings that tower to ten feet and bask in plenty of sunshine compliments of the large windows. Depending on the home’s location in the complex, the great room will either walk out to a veranda with street access or to a large deck that expands to green space.
The next level offers a powder room with room to tuck away a full sized washer and dryer. Adjacent, the large kitchen features ample space from which to prepare your culinary creations. Adding an element of interest, built into the design is a carved out niche that overlooks the great room. It’s perfect for carrying on conversations with guests while doing the dishes and also for capturing some of that glorious sunshine dazzling through those windows below. The kitchen flows into an eating nook that either opens on to a spacious terrace or enjoys the delightful view from an oversized window.
From here, the floor plan deviates substantially depending on the design. The Metro, the double master plan, incorporates two master bedrooms on separate levels to maintain a sense of privacy. Although the configurations are slightly different, both boast an ensuite and walk-in closet. “These designs allow for young people to buy. They are great for sharing. You can get a roommate to help pay the mortgage,” says Tam.
Great for families, the Trio, offers three bedrooms – a master with ensuite and walk in closet, plus two smaller bedrooms. The final design, the Cosmo offers a master with an open loft space with lots of natural light, perfect for artistic endeavors or a home office. Residents have the option of relocating the laundry space to this area or as an upgrade installing a full wet bar.
Standard features include a blind package, linoleum and 32 ounce carpet flooring, laminate counter tops, polished chrome fixtures, brushed chrome hardware and a full appliance package in white. Residents have a large choice of cabinetry, finishes and colours that should satisfy even the most hard to please. If not, Copperfield Crossing’s Area Sales Manager, Jill Grant, says that residents can mix and match the palettes to create their own unique look. Of course, homeowners can also choose upgrades galore from gleaming oak hardwood flooring to a built-in gas fireplace and stainless steel appliances. And, with homes starting at just over $174,000, adding an upgrade or two is relatively painless.
