Riverfront Pointe
Buyers line up for downtown condos
The Sheraton Suites in Eau Claire saw a rush of blissful condo purchasers as the launch for Riverfront Pointe saw seventy five per cent of the first building sold out in an hour and thirty two minutes. The second building of the development, a 21 storey residential building is slated to hit the market mid fall 2005.
For those who love the excitement of living in downtown Calgary, it’s not always easy to find affordable living spaces. Wouldn’t it be great to be in the centre of all the activity, with all the culture, shopping, restaurants and entertainment – all the time? Riverfront Pointe, is located at 4th Avenue, between 2nd (Macleod Trail South) and 3rd Street SE.
A leader in affordable housing, Pointe of View Developments has created yet another great lifestyle opportunity. Destined to be located on Riverfront Avenue in Downtown Calgary, this East-side location will be convenient to all the great amenities, including Prince’s Island Park, Eau Claire Market and the extensive pathway systems that follow the Bow and Elbow Rivers. As well, the project will easily access the free-fare zone of the C-trains, making transportation around the city centre even easier. Clark Hogan, Marketing Manager with Pointe of View Developments believes that one of the most impressive benefits of riverfront Pointe will be the fantastic views offered from the project. “Riverfront Pointe offers luxury riverfront living at a price you can afford,” he says.
Recently approved, the project begins construction in late fall. The first of four high rise towers is scheduled to be completed sometime in 2007 and 2008. The first phase includes the nine storey building and the underground parkade. Phase II consists of a 21 storey building with 245 units and main floor commercial space fronting 4th Avenue. The remainder of the project is designed to have two more towers and a townhouse component, totaling approximately 700 residential units.
This in itself will definitely have an impact on the downtown skyline, but apparently that won’t be the only visual aspect of these four buildings. “It’s going to be quite stunning in architectural design,” says Hogan. “The tops of these buildings will incorporate an S-curve that will be picked up from building to building, creating a flowing motion, as opposed to the standard squared tops of some projects.” He says.
Starting as low as $159,900, these condos range from 680 to 1100 square feet, offering different floor plans for different lifestyles. If you are interested in Riverfront Pointe, you can check out their website at http://www.riverfrontpointe.com
