Castello
Contemporary Urban 'Castle' rises in Connaught
In Connaught, one of downtown Calgary’s trendiest neighbourhoods, a castle is rising. Castello, one of Calgary’s latest high rise condo projects, by Homburg Invest and developed by Homburg-Centron Teamworks, is a stylish, contemporary and most of all impressive place for the city’s urban professionals to make their new home.
The building’s location, at the corner of 12th Avenue and Fifth Street, puts it at the centre of Calgary’s design district, where hip home décor stores and art galleries abound. Residents are just a few blocks away from Central Park, Stephen Avenue, Fourth Street and Uptown 17th Avenue, meaning there will always be someplace new to shop, dine or just sit and people watch. A +15 access point is just three blocks north, an unbeatable convenience for anyone who works in the core.
“Our location is unparalleled,” says Heather Grantham, Castello Sales for the Centron Group. “Most people who haven’t embraced a live-work uptown lifestyle outside suburbia may not realize the easy access to all major highways with the Calgary airport being only 20 minutes away.”
The development will consist of 106 units over nineteen storeys, including four penthouse suites. Although Castello is the Italian word for castle, the exterior’s style will emulate a contemporary yet timeless simplicity of understated elegance, encompassing glass and stone. Inside, a bright, spacious lobby will greet residents and visitors with a large urban fireplace, fitness room, guest suite and boardroom while the rooftop patio will offer a 360 degree view of the downtown skyline and provide a tranquil refuge from the busy streets below. Parking and storage are also included with each suite.
Units in Castello consist of one or two bedroom open concept models ranging from 980 to 1,500 square feet, with six different floor plans to choose from. Every suite comes standard with five stainless-steel appliances plus a stacked washer and dryer and a wine chiller, hardwood floors, quartz stone countertops and custom-wood cabinetry. All suites offer a multi-room sound system, internet and pre-wiring for security with the living rooms pre-wired for Dolby 5.1. Some units also feature a built-in pocket office while another has an attention-grabbing curved entrance and hallway. One bedroom condos have one and a half baths, while the two bedroom units have two full baths, with all ensuites offering luxurious dual sinks. Floor to ceiling windows ensure that every unit is flooded with natural light.
“The smooth clean lines combined with the integrated finishes of stainless steel, glass, stone, woodwork and mirrors create the most spectacular open concepts enhancing the uniqueness of each floor plan, says Grantham.
“They’re exciting in both design and functionality, which is a rare combination. Purchasers will walk-out onto angled terraces providing them with a spacious outdoor living element, an extension of their home with multiple views. It’s really is modern uptown living at its finest.”
Castello’s Sales Gallery show suite (1235 11 Ave SW), allows potential buyers to experience some of the best features Castello has to offer, including a full kitchen, ensuite bathroom and living room, as well as an outdoor terrace. In keeping with the atmosphere of the neighbourhood, the presentation sales centre is laid out to resemble an art gallery, with photos, design schemes and floor plan graphic renderings on the walls and a 3-D model. Visitors will see the development for what it is – a work of modern art.
“There’s such a diverse cross section of condo buyers out there right now,” says Grantham. “The shift to condo living is not a trend but rather a lifestyle choice and we’re excited to be part of it.”
Units in Castello will range infrom the $200,000s to the $500,000s and will go on sale mid-December from the Sales Gallery. Purchasers looking for more and are on sale today at the SalesGallerycentre.information may register at http://www.castello.ca.
