Buyer’s market
Aspirations met at Jayman’s Aberdeen on the Park
Whether you aspire toward having that first place of your own, or covet a maintenance-free answer to home ownership, Aberdeen on the Park has plenty of options that won’t leave buyers short on green.
With a plethora of floor plans ranging from 668-square-foot one-bedrooms to sprawling 1,100-square-foot two-bedroom designs, Aspire Condo Living by Jayman’s largest condominium venture offers something for everyone – including a three-acre park for a backyard.
“It’s really designed to appeal to every market, from first-time homebuying couples, to single women, to move-down buyers leaving that single-family home behind,” says Brian McIntyre, COO of Aspire Condo Living by Jayman.
Despite a host of included features, from kitchen appliances and in-suite washers and dryers to nine-foot ceilings, maple or oak cabinets and built-in desks with high-speed Internet, Aberdeen prices remain affordable from the $150,000s to the low $230,000s excluding GST.
“The price is great. Young professionals are impressed by what they get for their money, and empty-nesters, who are buying the larger units, love the size of the rooms and the designs,” says Gwenn Utigard, area manager for Aberdeen on the Park.
The first building of 32 units is all but sold out – just three suites remain, while the second three-storey instalment is already nearly half sold, with first residents of the latter 32 expected to cross their thresholds next February, says Utigard.
Located in the Village of Prestwick in neo-traditional McKenzie Towne, Aberdeen on the Park is a leisurely stroll from the shops, services and eateries of High St. or a quick jaunt by car to shopping at 130 Ave.’s big box stores from Wal-Mart to the Great Canadian Superstore. But, as the name suggests, proximity to greenspace – overlooking a $1million park dubbed Prestwick Common – seems to be the project’s greatest attraction.
“Probably the location is most unique – right on a three-acre park that’s phenomenal in the summer months, and even in the winter they plan to freeze the water feature for skating,” says McIntyre, adding the park’s landscaped gardens, picnic areas and playground only heighten investment values.
While the builder deliberately opted against providing in-house amenity rooms to ensure owners’ condo fees stay reasonable, says McIntyre, one exception is a pair of guest suites – one in each building – available to reserve and use to give out-of-town guests some privacy for their stay.
Meanwhile, security for cars and bikes is sewn into ownership of every suite, which includes one underground heated parking stall and storage locker, with options to purchase an extra.
And since the second Aberdeen on the Park building is in the drywall stage, would-be owners still have a window of opportunity to truly personalize their spaces, reaping the same benefits Jayman’s single-family homebuyers are afforded via the StyleMagic Centre – including a consultation with interior experts at the 10,000-square-foot home
design Utopia.
Meanwhile, eight floor plans, a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom, two-bath designs ensure choices aplenty to find the home that’s right for every buyer.
Visitors to Aberdeen on the Park can sample three available floorplans daily, the 1,036-square-foot Banffshire, the 914-square-foot Ashdon or the 1,119-squre-foot Devenshire. Showhome hours are Monday to Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m and Fridays, weekends and holidays, noon to 5 p.m.
