Ginger Park by Streetside is for Calgarians who want to enjoy the serenity of nature without leaving the city. Streetside has cooked up a gourmet menu of townhomes to suit every taste and fancy.

So with a hint of sophistication, a whiff of luxury and a dash of convenience, Ginger Park by Streetside Development Corporation has cooked up a gourmet menu of townhomes to suit every taste and fancy.

Located in Calgary’s southwest community of Wentworth, Ginger Park is a rare oasis of Aspen trees, green spaces and retail amenities available to those who want to enjoy the serenity of nature without leaving the city life.

“As a condition of our development approval, we had to preserve a fairly large stand of Aspen trees,” says Naum Shteinbah, general manager of Streetside.

“That sort of created a theme for our whole development of (building) a bit of an urban park.”

Common areas as well as a park and pathways are melded into the development that also boasts easy access to Westhills, Signal Hill, the Westside Recreation Centre and the mountains. Convenience is definitely one of the main draws for any future Ginger Park homeowner, and with a Calgary Co-op grocery store, a wealth of restaurants and retail stores nearby, shopping for tonight’s meal or having a drink with friends is merely minutes away. The area also boasts an organic market, a wine boutique and many coffee shops.

With a tasty list of appropriately named floor plans to choose from such as Coriander, Canton and Tarragon, all of Ginger Park’s two- and three-bedroom town homes range from 1,590 square-feet to 1,637 square-feet and are available in four delicious colour palettes–although colour customization is also available. Stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, ceramic backsplash and maple cabinetry in a variety of stains are all available in each suite, and with pre-finished maple hardwood throughout the living area and your choice of plush carpeting elsewhere in the home, feeling content, contemporary and comfortable is made easy, without breaking the bank. A convenient main-floor laundry room and large master suites with walk-in closets and ensuites complete the residences interior elegance. When the third and final phase is complete, Ginger Park will consist of 115 alpine theme-inspired units with stylish exteriors, an oversized single garage and rear deck/patio.

“It is a unique three levels of living,” says Cory Baiton, sales associate for Streetside. “When people typically think of townhomes, they only think two levels. This is almost like loft-style townhomes with high-vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.” As well, an optional fireplace, Venetian blinds, raised eating bar, in-floor heating in the foyer and a rough-in for a built-in vacuum system are also available in each home.

Depending on the number of upgrades, location and a floor plan, the price of Ginger Park homes range from $369,000 to $450,000, which is very attractive for a townhouse close to downtown, explains Shteinbah. “Because Ginger Park is located next to million-dollar homes, we incorporated a very high level of interior and exterior specifications and included in the price, buyers are getting a lot of common area amenities that they don’t normally get with a single-family home in that price range,” he says. “I don’t think that there are any comparable competitors to our product in that area. Townhome land is less dense compared to an apartment type product and it is very difficult to get something like that close to the downtown area of Calgary.”

Ginger Park townhomes are perfect for young families, young empty nesters (people in pre-retirement whose kids have all flown the coop, but who are still active and want to begin traveling), and single professionals who “are looking for  something larger than just an apartment-style unit and would like a little bit of a yard,” says Shteinbah. “And that’s what they get at Ginger Park.” The condominium lifestyle spells freedom for people who desire carefree lawn and home maintenance and security, at affordable price point.

In times of economic strain looking for strength in a home builder is one of the most important things a potential buyer can do, cites Shteinbah. “If I were to help my children buying a home, I would ask a question, ‘If something happens, will the builder be there for them?’ ”

As part of Qualico Group (established in 1953), Streetside has proven itself many times over. “Since 1990, we have built 20 multi-family communities and have received numerous provincial and municipal awards and nominations for our outstanding communities,” he says. “Recent construction boom produced many builders today with no history. We do, and to me that’s a very important factor in deciding on a choice of a homebuilder.”

Qualico’s reputation for customer satisfaction and trustworthiness for the past 55 years is a testament to its dedication to building quality homes and communities in Western Canada. Ginger Park is located at the northwest corner of Bow Trail and 85 Street S.W. next to the Wentworth community.  Just a short 15-minute drive to downtown, and close to established bus routes for commuters who prefer public transit.
