Multi-faceted Milano makes its mark
An Italian-themed, multi-faceted, multi-family project in the popular northwest community of Panorama Hills may just be the tonic the condo market needs these days, as Trico Homes’ latest offering generates plenty of buzz.
The 211-unit Milano will be a mix of townhomes and apartment style condos that will appeal to a wide range of buyers — from single professionals, young families, and even empty-nesters — with its stylish, urban flair and fantastic location. Trico plans to hold grand opening ceremonies on September 19.
“We are getting a lot of interest on Milano and we are confident it will be another success for Trico,” says Paul Betts, Trico’s Vice-President for Sales and Marketing.
It will be different from most everything else in the area with its four, three-storey buildings of apartment style condos surrounding a cluster of townhomes facing a central park, and distinguished by a shingle style with Prairie elevation design to match the gently sloping hillside surroundings.
“Panorama Hills is just a great area to be in right now, with the recent opening of the Stoney Trail portion and the improvements being done on Country Hills Boulevard and Beddington Trail, it has a lot to offer by way of accessibility,” Betts says.
Sales Manager Warren Saunders says the Milano distinguishes itself from the rest of the crowd not only through its central location but the ease-of-living convenience its designs offer. “There is still a lot of demand for this kind of product in the suburbs, and our location in Panorama Hills allows us to appeal to a very wide range of buyers.”
Betts says Trico could have easily gone for a higher density product than the three-storey walk-ups Milano has, but that it was important for the multi-award winning builder to retain the project’s “lifestyle destination” character.
The Milano promises tech-smart and future-friendly homes that are stylish and comfortable, with no wasted space. Best of all, they are affordable with apartment-style units starting in the $190,000 range and townhomes at just under $300,000.
Not only are they affordable, there are floor plans that can suit various lifestyle needs. “We have double master bedroom plans that opens itself to creative ways to pay the mortgage by letting it out to a roommate,” Betts says.
Each unit comes with modern flat shaker-style maple cabinets for kitchens and bathrooms, a six appliance package, quality Moen Chateau Series chrome plumbing fixtures and curved shower rod for a more spacious shower experience. Wide patios and decks are part of each plan, while apartment units have underground heated parking and personal storage unit and townhomes have their own garage.
Milano has three townhome layouts and three apartment-style floor plans available, with the former starting at 1,186 square-feet, and the latter at 650 square-feet. There are also nine different interior finishing options (three standard and six upgrades) to give buyers the widest range of choices possible to match their home with their lifestyle.
The Milano features spacious balconies and decks built with premium treated spruce and aluminum railing that blends well with the low-maintenance vinyl siding, shakes, Hardie board and new age cultured stone exteriors.
The decks give owners terrific views of the surroundings; from the well-manicured landscaped grounds to the nearby Panatella Park, enjoyment of the surroundings comes with the peace of mind that you don’t have to worry about shoveling snow from the pathways and maintaining the lawn.
Condo suite names are derived from Italian gelato flavours such as Canella, Mandorla, and Tarocco to establish an identity of class and sophistication, Betts says.
The Mocha is a 1,286-square-foot townhome with two- or three-bedroom option. Its’ open design with tiled floors is perfect for entertaining and the lower level can always be developed into extra living space with a home office, den or crafts room.
“The price point and top quality design the Milano offers represents pretty good value for customers — especially at today’s interest rates. And its central location accessible to almost anywhere in town is definitely a plus,” Betts adds.
