Waterside in Westmere

With summer just around the corner, children’s thoughts turn to sunny days, running through sprinklers, summer camp and tree forts. Meanwhile, world-wise parents have a different vision in their minds; having tired of the sprinkler and the tree fort by mid-July, the kids’ voices now whine in unison, “We’re booored!”

But there is no need to worry if you’re living in a Waterside townhome by Landmark Homes. With Lake Chestermere only a block away, and Chestermere’s town centre shopping area even closer, there will always be plenty to do at Waterside in Westmere, Landmark Homes’ first multi-family project.

“Landmark builds mainly estate and move-up homes,” says Jocelyn Brunner, Sales and Marketing Coordinator of Landmark Homes. “We pride ourselves on our finishing and interiors, and we plan to carry that into this project.”

Landmark will be pre-selling the Cape Cod-style townhomes from a sales centre in Westmere by the end of July. The project consists of 60 single-car garage, attached townhomes, featuring deep green and blue exteriors, exterior stone on the front and rear elevations, and a fully-fenced backyard with 5 ft. fence. The 60 units will form a circle around the central courtyard, with gazebo, fire pit and playground.

Inside, buyers can customize their interior design, choosing from six colour boards. The choice of maple, white or oak cabinets comes standard with a Waterside home, and five appliances are included.

Ranging in size from 1300 to just over 1400 square feet, with four floor plans offering two bedrooms, three bedrooms or two bedrooms plus loft, the townhomes start in the very affordable high $170,000s. Walk-outs are also available.

All these features and options make Waterside the perfect home for someone who would like to get out of the city and enjoy the benefits of a small town, while remaining close to big-city amenities. It is in fact only 10 minutes from Westmere to Calgary city limits.

However, those amenities will soon be available right in Westmere, at Chestermere’s future town centre, conveniently located next to Waterside. The centre will include a grocery store and gas bar, among other shops.

Westmere is also attractive to buyers thanks to its two schools, Chestermere Middle School and Chestermere High School, as well as ponds and walking paths, open for all residents to enjoy. Lake Chestermere is home to beaches for catching some sun or building sand castles, and the boat launch is a short walk from Waterside, allowing residents to enjoy their watercraft close to home.

“Waterside gives buyers the chance to live in a nice community for an affordable price,” says Brunner. “It costs $220,000, minimum, to build a house here, so to buy a home here for under $200,000 is a great opportunity.”

Buyers can always depend on Landmark’s superior standards. Started in Edmonton 27 years ago, the builder moved into the Calgary market and surrounding areas, including Airdrie and Westmere, seven years ago. Since then, they have been building high quality homes in communities such as Tuscany, Wentworth, Westmere, Evergreen Estates, Panorama Hills and Airdrie’s Sagewood.

Landmark has streamlined all their processes using state-of-the-art computer technology, which translates into lower prices and higher efficiency. Buyers benefit all-around from Landmark’s methods, and at the same time enjoy the company’s trademark quality.
