The royal treatment
Beattie Homes’ Courtyards of King’s Heights offers affordable, well-appointed apartment-style condos
Multi-family affordability in an up-and-coming neighbourhood that makes residents feel like royalty with all its nearby amenities — this and more is what you’ll find at the Courtyards of King’s Heights in Airdrie.
Beattie Homes’ latest multi-family offering has really outdone itself with the amount of detail that has gone into its construction, but it is its “greenness” — in more ways than one — that has been a big part of its success.
“For one thing, it is a Built Green™ building, that follows sustainable construction processes and uses energy efficient systems,” says area manager Greg Kennedy. “For another, it is the only development in Airdrie that has a well-manicured green space right out front. It is a calm oasis with a gazebo, stamped concrete walking paths and picnic tables. It’s a park right outside your doorstep.”
The Courtyards has seen quite a lot business lately and is down to the last seven units in its first building. Sales for its second building, which begin in October, are expected to be as strong. “When we opened the new show suite in July, things started to pick up and it has been extremely busy since,” Kennedy says.
“People know value when they see it, and the Courtyards offers a lot for what it’s worth; upgraded standard features with each unit, a central location in Airdrie close to schools, shopping and the Deerfoot Trail, it adds up to an easy-living convenience for residents.”
There will be a total of three buildings in the development, with 39 apartment-style units in each ranging in size from 635 square-feet to 920 square-feet. One-bedroom units start at $179,900 and two-bedroom models are at $215,900.
The Shine show suite is a perfect example of the luxury, convenience and functionality of the Courtyards. It has two master bedrooms and two bathrooms, which would really work out with a roommate who can help with the mortgage.
The open design floor plan is a big draw, as people instantly recognize its value in entertaining. The L-shaped kitchen, with its granite countertops and extended eating ledge, is as functional as it is stylish.
Standard features include ceramic tile flooring in the kitchen, bath and laundry, maple cabinets, 4-1/2-inch crown mouldings, California twist carpet, Hunter Douglas blinds, and five-piece appliance package including a stackable washer-dryer unit. All kitchens have built-in pantries.
Having a patio outside each bedroom is also a big plus, Kennedy points out. “Each occupant can enjoy their own private moments without bothering the other.”
The universal appeal of the Courtyards has made it attractive to a wide range of buyers, he adds. “I have buyers from 22-year-olds just starting out in life and up to 80-year-olds looking to downsize in a very quiet and convenient neighbourhood.”
King’s Hieghts is one of Airdrie’s newest communities, conveniently located on the city’s east side with rapid access to the Queen Elizabeth II Highway via Yankee Valley Road. Its position affords excellent mountain views and it’s also ideally situated near a range of amenities.
You’ll find numerous shops, services and restaurants either within walking distance or a short drive away.
“There is a future school site in the community, lots of walking paths, very pedestrian-friendly and family-oriented. Living in King’s Heights means less time fighting congestion on the highway and more time enjoying life,” Kennedy says.
