Wild for Wildstone
Wildstone has the complete package of location, quality and value in this booming northwest community
“Booming” is a word that hasn’t been heard in the city for a long time, but this is exactly what is happening in the rolling grasslands of Panorama Hills, as the northwest community experiences a growth surge that has made it the hottest real estate property around.
Rockford is making the best of its opportunity to build in this highly sought after area with its latest offering: Wildstone. The 214-unit townhome complex offers the multi-awarded builder’s hallmark of best value for your investment with its complete package of style, quality and affordability in an established location.
With nothing but word-of-mouth, pre-sales for Wildstone have taken off with 20 units going almost instantly after its initial release. “We did a really soft opening for Wildstone, going on nothing but word-of-mouth and the response was just outstanding,” says Rockford general manager, Darren Schaaf.
Hopes are high that Wildstone will do even better when it makes its grand opening on January 15. “It is a good, affordable product that attracts a lot of first-time buyers which accounts for a big part of our market, although we also get a lot of young, single professionals attracted by the maintenance-free lifestyle and easily accessible location,” Schaaf tells Condo Living.
“We seem to attract a lot of women,” says marketing manager Lana Campbell. “They like the secure location we have, they don’t have to walk across a big underground parking lot.”
Campbell also points out that with the amount of development going on in the area, there is ample opportunity to find employment nearby. “We also seem to be getting a lot of airport employees,” she says.
Schaaf adds that whether you work nearby or in the downtown, everything is readily accessible. “We’re fortunate enough to be located near Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail, so access to anywhere in town is pretty easy,” he says.
The community itself is a peaceful enclave of green spaces and natural ravines, and the hilly topography gives terrific city and mountain views. The stacked townhomes design of Wildstone takes full advantage of its 12-acre area and covered terraces over the garage offer a unique vantage point to enjoy the scenery.
Speaking of garages, having this major convenience especially for first-time homeowners is one of the main advantages at Wildstone, Schaaf remarks. “We have single and double-car garages, depending on the location of the unit and there are options to add another surface parking space.”
The chalet style features cedar shingle accents, durable vinyl siding and charming stone veneers to give the impression of an exclusive mountain getaway.
Wildstone has three models, including two brand new ones, and 13 floor plans, including two bedroom units with double ensuites. Units range from 1,200 square-feet to 1,260 square-feet while prices are from $259,900 to $289,900. There are also walkout units available.
“Having a basement also gives owners the flexibility to increase their living space according to their needs,” Schaaf adds.
“We give customers a fair bit of choice when it comes to customizing their units,” Schaaf says. “We don’t limit them to a few palettes to choose from, they can customize their home to fit their lifestyle,” Campbell adds.
Panorama Hills is a Genstar Development community and all homes here, including Wildstone, are pre-wired for easy Internet access. It also makes it easier for owners to custom-fit home automation hardware later on.
Rockford is a Calgary-based company that has designed and constructed more than 2,500 homes since 1991. It has developed an enviable reputation as a specialist in multi-family homes receiving top honours at the SAM Awards in 2003 and 2004 as multi-family builder of the year. “We stand by our name and Wildstone presents the latest design innovations we have learned over the years,” Schaaf says.
