Quarry Park Boulevard in Calgary may soon be what Park Avenue is to Manhattan, when Birchwood Properties’ vision to create some of the most exclusive town homes in the city is completed.

Everyone knows that Park Avenue is one of the most exclusive real estate properties in the world with its million-dollar brownstones and colourful history. It is this same ambience of stately sophistication that is embodied by the Boulevard Townes of Quarry Park, one of Birchwood’s most ambitious projects yet.

Sales are off to a terrific start in the first phase, just as the on-site sales centre opened in April. Buyers were attracted not only by the meticulous attention to detail given to the classy town home design, but also to the easy living convenience the community provides.

“Walk to work, to the park, to the grocery store or even to the pub and not have to be in the downtown core — it’s an urban lifestyle at its very best. It used to be that you had to live downtown or somewhere in the inner city to be able to enjoy this much lifestyle convenience. But the Quarry Park development by Remington Development Corp. in the southeast provides all of these without the congestion of the urban hub.

“There are already plenty of office buildings in Quarry Park, and buyers have the opportunity to live close to work. We’re not in the inner city but we offer the same lifestyle,” she adds. “There are already several restaurants, grocery stores and coffee shops around, it’s an established community with miles of walking paths that take you to the river’s edge.”

Boulevard Townes provides the top-end multi-family residences that such a vibrant village centre needs. It will have nothing but the very best in finishes and architectural standards. Birchwood cranked up the standard specifications available at Boulevard Townes including hardwood flooring on the main level, nine-foot ceilings on the main floor, designer tiles in the bathroom, foyer and rear entrance, and built-in desks, computer stations and benches (per plan). Granite countertops, chrome single-lever taps and Energy Star stainless steel appliances give it a polished finish.

“We put in the highest standards to go with its high-end appeal, Boulevard Townes targets a specific niche and will cater to the market’s tastes,” Kerr says.

Phase One will have two-storey units and Phase Two will have three-storey town homes. There will be 60 town homes in total when completed, ranging in size from 1,500 square-feet to over 2,000 square-feet. Price starts at the low $400,000s, she says. Quarry Park will also have apartment style condos planned a little further in the future.

The two-storey town homes are available in two- and three-bedroom variations, and all have full basement development options. Kerr points out that what sets them apart is that all their mechanicals will be in the attic thus freeing up the whole space in the basement for development, with no awkward spaces for the utilities taking up room.

“Boulevard Townes appeals to couples, singles and downsizers, we have a lot of career-minded professionals coming in,” Kerr says. “ We also get a lot of buyers from the Douglasdale, Riverbend area, who want to downsize but remain in the same immediate vicinity.”
