A new kind of downtown living comes to Calgary, as Waterfront by Anthem Properties makes its mark on the scenic side of Cowtown’s core, where vibrant city life and nature’s serenity meet.

Waterfront, being developed by reputable Vancouver-based developer Anthem Properties, sits on 5.2 acres of prime riverfront land right in the beating heart of Calgary’s downtown. It is located between the serenity of Prince’s Island Park and the Bow River pathways, and the vibrancy of Chinatown and Eau Claire Market.

The towers are both over 20-storeys high and one can just imagine the gorgeous views from such an advantageous location.

People are really seeing the benefit of this lifestyle as the first of the planned three towers in Phase I of the development is already 90 per cent sold. While the second, which is in the middle of construction, is already 70 per cent accounted for. This is quite an accomplishment, considering that most of the sales were made during the past three years of economic turbulence.

“We had an incredible response to the first offering at Waterfront, as Tower 1 began selling in the fall of 2007. Last year we sold over 70 homes even in a declining market. Our purchasers truly see the value of a great location and a reputable, proven builder,” Briggs says.

Residents will also enjoy the use of approximately 6,000 square-feet of amenity space including a theatre, fully equipped fitness centre, entertainment lounge and concierge.

The first tower has 177 units and is close to being sold out, with first possessions slated later this summer. While the second has 133 suites and 139 of the ‘Flats’ — which Briggs says is a more compact suite with a very functional design.

“Tower 2 offers the same plans as Tower 1 but the podium is made up of a collection of ‘Flats’ which are an efficiently designed space found in cosmopolitan areas such as London and New York.” The presentation centre allows guests to walk through three of their display suites including a one-bedroom unit, two-bedroom residence and a one-bedroom flat.

Waterfront attracts purchasers from all different demographics — from recent university graduates looking to have an easy commute to work, to empty nesters looking to live in the heart of it all. “Sales have been steady and we expect sales to continue strong as the Calgary housing market continues on an upward trend,” Briggs adds.

“People are craving life a little more simplified. They are eliminating the unnecessary commute, the snow blowing, the lawn mowing and opting for a new life full of doing all of the things they love because living at Waterfront means that now, they have the time to do it.”
