Elegant, metropolitan living on the outskirts of downtown

Metropolis Homes continues to offer the glitz and glamour of the city life in a uniquely designed, modern contemporary styling, their latest development in the inner city’s southwest. These three extravagant homes were built by Metropolis Homes. Founded in Calgary in 2004 by principals Bob Goshtasbi (P.Eng) and Tim Mascarenhas (BA, MSc), Metropolis Homes is a local, luxury custom home builder.

The upscale homes are located at 2023, 2025, and 2027 20th Avenue S.W. Homes 2023 and 2025 are attached residences and 2027 is a detached home. The last available property is one of the attached homes the Richmond Urban Executive semi-detached luxury home at 2025 20 Ave. The asking price is $1,295,000. All three homes have similar floor plans.

From top to bottom, these homes boast over 2,800 square-feet each of European-inspired open-space living, an optimal urban retreat with dramatic angled architecture all designed to maximize spectacular downtown city skyline and Nose Hill Park’s scenic views.

The main level’s nine-foot ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, wall mounted fireplace and linear steel staircase complete with glass railings accented by natural light from an overhead skylight, set the bar high for the rest of the home.

“On the main floor, a custom built staircase is featured as the centrepiece for the level,” says Jim Hughes, realtor for the homes. “The adjacent kitchen includes a double island with a quartz top and a stainless steel countertop next to the stove.”

All of the gourmet kitchen’s cabinetry is Beechwood and is flanked by high-end fixtures—stainless steel appliances including a side-by-side refrigerator, gas countertop stove and built-in wall oven. All appliances are Jenn-Air or Bosch.  An ever-chic glass backsplash and two unique islands polish off this exquisite kitchen.

Slightly away from the kitchen is a modern powder room with an ever-trendy, stone tiled pedestal sink. The main floor also serves up  living and dining rooms complemented with beautiful ash hardwood. The space also acts as a technology hub for virtual play.

“Above the gas-burning fireplace it is roughed in for a plasma television and the entire home is CAT-5 wired. The main floor pantry is designed as the central location for any and all electronic components that have been wired throughout the homes ,” says Hughes.

The second-level master bedroom’s retreat indulges in spectacular skyline views, walk in closets and the kicker—a spa-inspired, six-piece ensuite; an over-sized glass walk in rain shower, full body jets; a very deep ultra-modern free-standing tub; and contemporary-flared tiles. There are two additional bedrooms and a laundry room on this floor.

“The recreational sized master bedroom includes a huge walk in shower complete with thermostat controlled angled body jets and rain cam,” adds Hughes.

The loft on the third level is even more enticing. The upper floor is the entertainment room that leads to an oasis of relaxation, this fairytale walkout roof top cedar patio is even engineered to include a hottub and the views take your breath away.

Additionally, the unfinished basement is offered as a palatte to create anything you need to accessorize the home. The basement is designed to accommodate an arts room, additional bedrooms, a bar or storage area, it’s up to you. There’s room for a theatre room, a large bathroom, and even a games room as well as a mud room. In-floor heating is roughed in for the unfinished basement and in the attached double garage.

Metropolis Homes’ philosophy towards building is to ensure that every home is constructed utilizing the highest quality materials and highly-skilled workmanship. This is showcased in each home constructed, as they have a distinguishing exterior design, which is carefully selected to ensure lasting neighbourhood appeal, and a stylish, functional interior design.
