Affordable quality has found a new champion in Copperfield Park, as the brand new development from Brad Remington Homes hits a homerun during its launch, tapping strong, pent-up demand that’s not easing up.

“We had an incredible response to our launch in March,” says Sales and Marketing Manager Bryan Logel, adding that up to 30 people per day were walking into their new on-site sales centre. “There was strong, pent-up demand for the kind of top quality, affordable and centrally-located homes we offer, and traffic to the sales centre hasn’t stopped since,” he adds.

“Our, 'you-have-got-to-be-kidding' prices are just one part of our success, backed up of course by the seasoned quality that can only come from Brad Remington, and made all the more appealing by our terrific location in Copperfield.”

Affordable, innovatively designed, and distinctly eye-catching architecture has always been the promise of Copperfield Park, and it is a promise Brad Remington means to keep. Their latest multi-family development in this popular master-planned community in the southeast boast 254-condos, the majority of which are under the $200,000 mark.

“Our two-bedroom units start at an amazing $140,000 while townhomes start at an equally astounding $240,000,” Logel says. “People are also loving the fact that a majority of our homes have underground parking stalls for greater convenience.”

The secret behind their affordability can be attributed to Brad Remington’s extensive experience in building multi-family buildings. After nearly two decades of being the go-to man in the city’s multi-family construction business, Brad Remington is finally striking out on his own to build Copperfield Park, the initial offering of his ‘Brad Remington Homes’ company.  He brings to this, his first solo development, the cumulative experience of building more than 2,500 multi-family units, and the assurance of a successful enterprise.

“My team is known for completing every project on time, on budget, and to the highest level of craftsmanship… every time,” Remington tells Condo Living. This is how he has kept prices so affordable, through efficient design and production that only years of experience can bring. His list of accomplishments includes many of Calgary’s apartment buildings, and most recently the construction of a luxury hotel for Sunshine Village Ski Resort, which he finished in six months.

Copperfield Park will sit on a two-hectare site just off McIvor Blvd. across from tot lots, parks, walking trails and green space. There will be five four-storey apartment buildings, along with two townhouse buildings with seven attached homes in each. It’s near the BRT bus stops so getting around even without a car is not a problem, besides, the community has fully established amenities already — including grocery stores and restaurants.

“People also love the exteriors of Copperfield Park, it adds a colourful, eye-catching presence in the neighbourhood with lots of brick detail,” Logel says. “It will bring a whole new level of affordable sophistication to multi-family living in the southeast with its focus on high-quality construction and aggressive pricing to create an exciting affordable homeownership opportunity for Calgarians.”

He adds that a ‘cost-effective’ production plan does not mean cutting corners. “It simply means Brad knows how to properly match materials, space and design into an affordable home,” Logel says. “It means doing the little things, taking care of the most minute detail. For example, integrating rain screen building techniques — an exterior envelope that eliminates the leaky condo syndrome. This method is commonly used in B.C. and, I believe, we will be one of the first to use it here in Calgary.”

HVAC units are also placed inside the buildings, instead of on the roof to eliminate noisy vibrations that travel down to the condos. “Putting the HVAC units on the roof had always been what was done in the industry, but just because it is the standard doesn’t mean it’s right, and at Brad Remington Homes, our goal is to take the best building practices and improve on them.”

The suites themselves are good examples of design efficiency that are as efficient as they are stylish. Their new D2 two-bedroom plan is approximately 600 square-feet of easy living lifestyle with an open concept design that is stylish, functional and leaves plenty of room for entertaining. Both bedrooms are more than enough to fit queen-sized beds and the galley kitchen with eating bar is a cozy spot for quick meals and a great place to have friends over.

“This is a great plan where owners can even rent out the second bedroom and still have a great sense of privacy,” Logel adds.

Copperfield Park will be meticulously landscaped to blend into the community, particularly with the parks adjacent to it. “The very distinctive units — especially the townhomes — will have a sense of individuality that owners will be proud to call their own,” Logel says.

Apartment condos range in size from 600 to 970 square-feet, while townhomes are from 1,240 to 1,353 square-feet. Two-bedroom condos start in the $140,000s and three bedroom townhomes from the $240,000s.

Copperfield Park is very much suited for first time purchasers, young families and downsizers. “We anticipate a lot of first-time buyers that are looking to get out of renting and start out on their own,” Logel states.

Being a fourth generation Albertan, the Remington name is well respected in the province, but Brad Remington says he still doesn’t take anything for granted. “I know the value of hard-work, the significance of keeping your word, and the importance of taking care of your customers’ needs,” Remington says. Copperfield Park will be testament to those values.

“We hold true to our promise of ‘Love it, live it, afford it’ just visit our sales centre at 279 Copperpond Common S.E.,” Logel adds.
