The spice is right
Ginger Park offers last chance for tasteful townhome living on the west side
The easy living allure of Calgary’s west side coupled with the tasteful charms of Ginger Park has resulted in one of the most successful townhome projects by Streetside Development, and the opportunity to savour the kind of easy-living lifestyle this one-of-a-kind multi-family setting offers is fast winding down.
There are only 25 townhomes left in the 115-unit complex in the much-coveted neighbourhood of Wentworth in the southwest, and they are going fast. “They represent the last opportunity for people to enjoy the kind of stylish, innovative townhome lifestyle in one of the most coveted areas in Calgary,” says Lisa Feist, sales and marketing manager at Streetside.
Two- and three-bedroom four-level split townhomes offering a hint of sophistication, a whiff of luxury and a dash of convenience are available ranging in size from 1,590 to 1,633 square-feet. “There is still a limited opportunity to choose and customize your finishes in Ginger Park although immediate move-ins are also available,” Feist adds.
With prices ranging from $385,000 to $400,000 plus GST, Ginger Park is still one of the most affordable housing available in the ultra-luxurious estate neighbourhood of Wentworth, think of it as a gourmet menu of townhomes that suit every taste and fancy.
Ginger Park is a rare oasis of Aspen trees, green spaces and retail amenities available to those who want to enjoy the serenity of nature without leaving the city life.
“As a condition of our development approval, we had to preserve a fairly large stand of Aspen trees,” Feist says. “That sort of created a theme for our whole development of creating a bit of an urban park for residents to enjoy.”
Common areas as well as a park and pathways are melded into the development that also boasts easy access to shopping and commercial centres in Westhills and Signal Hill, the Westside Recreation Centre and the limitless outdoor opportunities in the nearby mountains.
Convenience is definitely one of the main draws for any future Ginger Park homeowner, and with a Calgary Co-op grocery store, a wealth of restaurants and retail stores nearby, shopping for tonight’s meal or having a drink with friends is merely minutes away. The area also boasts an organic market, a wine boutique and many coffee shops. “Mercato, the Italian fresh market, is also setting up shop nearby and everyone is really excited about that.”
With a tasty list of five appropriately named floor plans to choose from — Coriander, Canton, Anise, Cardamom and Tarragon — Ginger Park’s two- and three-bedroom townhomes are a heady mix of stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, ceramic backsplash and maple cabinetry in a variety of stains.
The pre-finished maple hardwood throughout the living area and your choice of plush carpeting elsewhere in the home, feeling content, contemporary and comfortable is made easy without breaking the bank. A convenient main-floor laundry room and large master suites with walk-in closets and ensuites complete the residences interior elegance. The alpine-inspired units come with stylish exteriors, an oversized single garage and spacious driveway. Each unit also has a rear deck/patio, and some units even come with two decks.
The Tarragon show suite has been one of its most popular models, with 14-foot ceilings in the main living room dominated by six-panels of oversized windows.
“It is a unique three levels of living,” says Feist. “When people typically think of townhomes, they only think two levels. This is almost like loft-style townhomes with high-vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.”
Because Ginger Park is located next to million-dollar homes, it has incorporated a very high level of interior and exterior specifications that buyers don’t normally get with a single-family home in that price range. “I don’t think that there are any comparable competitors to our product in that area. Townhome land is less dense compared to an apartment type product and it is very difficult to get something like that close to the downtown area of Calgary.”
Ginger Park townhomes are perfect for, young empty nesters (people in pre-retirement whose kids have all flown the coop, but who are still active and want to
begin traveling), and single professionals who “are looking for something larger than just an apartment-style unit and would like a little bit of a yard,” says Feist. “And that’s what they get at Ginger Park.”
