Calgary on top: Provincial home builder awards
City builders lead shortlist for provincial award contenders
The Canadian Home Builders Association-Alberta (CHBA-Alberta) 2008 Awards of Excellence in Housing has narrowed the potential winners— and once again Calgary has come out strong—with 30 finalist spots in the Calgary region, followed by 13 in Edmonton and one each in Red Deer and Lethbridge.
The shortlist of contenders was pared down from an original 233 entries for the coveted hardware.
The province salutes the best of the best for development, building and renovation in 15 different categories, culminated in a gala evening sponsored by RBC Royal Bank. This year’s ceremonies are slated for September 19 at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, as part of the BUILD 2008 CHBA–Alberta conference—a members-only event.
One builder will take home the prestigious Ralph Scurfield Builder of the Year honour, while two other new accolades this year include the J.D. Power and Associates award for Highest New Home Builder Customer Satisfaction in Alberta and the Alberta New Home Warranty Program New-Home Buyers’ Choice Awards™.
