Sometimes, the best lifestyle is where you spend less time on the road and more time doing the important things like work and play.

The Aurora at Chinook allows you to do both. Located in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, the Aurora at Chinook provides residents the convenience of having everything within reach everyday. “The Aurora at Chinook is a redesigned three-storey, 53-unit conversion project of the Condo-Condo Group,” says Cody Lamoureux, area manager of The Aurora.

The Aurora at Chinook consists of condo and loft residences, with eight loft units, six two-bedroom and 31 one-bedroom units, all finished to a high quality by Condo-Condo Development Group. Residents have the enviable spot where all of life’s essentials are just steps away. The Aurora is also just two miles from the downtown core, making commute time relatively short. “Buyers will find major LRT stations, retail, restaurants, parks and pathways all within easy reach,” says Lamoureux.

The Aurora also has several unit types, appealing to different homebuyers’ needs and lifestyles. Buyers can choose from a one-bedroom, one-bath unit ranging in size from 750 to 890 square-feet starting at $259,000 to $290,000; to 1,000-square-foot, two-bedroom/one full bath unit priced from $333,900 up; to the 1,300-square-foot, two-bedroom loft with two full baths, priced from $369,900 up. “We’re seeing a mix of first-time homebuyers, singles who are buying into the lofts, to people who are starting over,” says Lamoureux.

The Aurora boasts 130 heated and titled parking spaces and huge secure storage stalls in the basement, a key fob entry that ensures resident security, as well as a state-of the-art sprinkler system. “Nothing was left to chance when it came to doing everything inside and out,” says Lamoureux.

The Aurora was designed to maximize the living spaces—a convenient elevator, bigger units, and lots of green spaces around the development. Plus, the Aurora has everything a maintenance-free lifestyle offers. “We’ve covered everything from water, heat, snow and garbage removal, painting, gas and barbecue hook-up,” says Lamoureux. “Everything is set up including the board and the management company.”

The Aurora’s interior features are also a major attraction for homebuyers across the board. Ceramic tile is generously used in the foyer, kitchen, bathroom and laundry; the kitchens are large and modern and equipped with stainless steel top-of-the-line appliances, granite countertops and dark wood maple cabinets that extend up to the ceiling. Some of the units also come with a bar-style kitchen. “If you’re having company, you can sit people at the bar, chat with them while you’re preparing a meal,” says Lamoureux.

Other interesting elements include the use of glass tile for the kitchen backsplash, a gas fireplace with designer surround and granite insert, pull-out spray faucets, vessel sinks and granite countertops in the washrooms, as well an in-suite stacking washer/dryer combo, which conveniently open into the bedroom. The use of shag carpeting throughout the living, dining and bedroom areas not only offers warmth in the winter months but it also aids in noise reduction. Lamoureux points out the contemporary look of the Aurora appeals to many people, whether first time or experienced home buyers. “First-time buyers like the fact that what’s in the Aurora is theirs and not someone else’s stuff. It’s very modern and will stay modern for a long time.”
