Established in 1984, Aldebaran Enterprises offers “innovative development, construction and marketing in specially designed lifestyle communities” explains corporate president Kerry Goulard, citing that many of their projects are located in Alberta, British Columbia, and New Mexico, as well as right here in Calgary—with some in the neighbourhoods of Royal Cascades, the Palisades, and Varsity Estates, plus several others.

“We are amongst a small group of companies in Calgary building multi-family homes in the late ’80s. In 1989, we built Barclay Estates, located in the inner city, off 14th Street S.W.  We do a great deal of planning for every project that we do. We look at what people want and that’s what we construct. We are on our 20th project, and have built over 1,000 units.”

Aldebaran is a proud member of the Calgary Region Home Builders Association (CRHBA) and participant in the Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP). “We pay strict attention to detail. When people buy our product, they are buying a well-built home.”

Edenmore in Kincora, Aldebaran’s latest offering, is found in Kincora by Apex Limited Partnership, the Celtic-themed, award winning community, featuring a stunning 80-foot-high stone tower, a beautiful stone entry wall, vintage-styled lampposts, plus 120 acres of park and environmental reserve, located in northwest Calgary, complemented by an extensively landscaped 15-acre water feature, a gazebo and many kilometres of walkways.

“The number one thing is the location,” says Ryan Heggedal, sales manager for Edenmore in Kincora. “Most condo developments are placed on the busy streets.  Edenmore has one of the Kincora ravines on one side and a church on the other.  It is a little island unto itself, and we have a great view straight out Symon’s Valley!”

Edenmore in Kincora, when complete, will consist of 84 townhomes, “all with double-attached garages,” adds Heggedal, “and extensively-landscaped courtyard-style community areas.” In Phase I, prices start at $337,900, ranging up to $346,800, including GST. All units are three-bedroom, with two-and-a-half baths, and square footages between 1,248 and 1,400 square-feet. “If people buy early enough, the configuration can be changed to two larger bedrooms from the original planned three.”

A full-sized kitchen including maple cabinetry and ENERGY STAR appliances is featured. An inviting gas fireplace is located in each townhome’s great room. “There are four basic unit types and each is very different from the other.” Goulard continues:  “There are nine-foot ceilings on the main floor which gives such an open feeling and makes the space feel larger. The high ceilings give the unit a better feeling of greatness.”

The first phase will consist of four blocks, consisting of two, four-unit blocks and two five-unit blocks. “We are hoping to break ground by early 2008,” says Goulard.

Close to the premier recreation and community centre, Cardel Place, as well as convenient to the Creekside Shopping Centre, anchored by Calgary Co-op and RONA, services are only a short distance away. “And with Stoney Trail, it is really quick to get around from here,” Goulard points out.

Come check out Edenmore’s sales centre, scheduled to open this month. To get there, take Beddington Trail North to Kincora Boulevard, turn left and follow the signs.
