A modern village

Contemporary design and village lifestyle intersect at Q in Sage Hill Quarter

There may be a significant age difference between Millennials and Baby Boomers, but when it comes to places they want to live they have similar wants and needs.

A village lifestyle is what many in these two generations of homebuyers are looking for, a community that offers ease of living convenience with abundant amenities and opportunities that allow them to be part of the community.

This is exactly what Q in Sage Hill Quarter offers — a connected lifestyle in the heart of a burgeoning commercial district that will bring a fresh energy to Calgary’s northwest.

“Q offers exclusivity, convenience and retail at your doorstep — it’s a Millennial homeowners’ dream that offers a lifestyle in tune with the younger generations’ needs,” says Robert Toth, marketing lead at Morrison Homes Multi-Family. “We’ve also been a hit with empty nesters and those looking to retire. Q has the lifestyle that checks off so many wants and needs.”

And now buyers, for a limited time, can get in to this lifestyle-oriented development for as low as $170,000, which Toth says is exceptional for such a distinctive product. He adds that Q in Sage Hill Quarter will be breaking ground in June, so
buyers can get in sooner rather than later. “We will hold a ground breaking ceremony in June,” he says.

Q Condominiums in Sage Hill Quarter is quite extraordinary in its design. It distinguishes itself from any other suburban multi-family development with its location right in the beating heart of Sage Hill Quarter, a massive commercial
development by Ronmor that promises to bring a dynamic downtown vibe in this part of the northwest.

Located in the heart of the of Symons Valley, the entire Sage Hill Quarter site will encompass approximately 16 acres and lies within the boundaries of the future North Stoney planning area. Upon completion, the site will include approximately
240,000 square-feet of retail space.

And therein lies Q’s appeal. “This is such an exciting location, it’s close to the airport, it’s surrounded by dozens of employment hubs, and is a short drive to the downtown with lots of access roads to choose from,” Toth says.

“But our buyers like it for the village lifestyle it offers, there’s some exclusivity as it’s not a massive condo project and will only have 173 units spread over two buildings upon completion.

Life surrounds Q with a number of cafes, pubs, restaurants and other commercial enterprises that are slated for Sage Hill Quarter and that is the kind of living our buyers want — especially the younger set. This is downtown living at a fraction of the price.”

Q, — developed by Morrison Homes Multi-Family — offers one — and two-bedroom suites from 564 to 908 square-feet, with a starting price from the $170,000s. “Pre-construction pricing is still available and we have this very appealing limited
time offer that further sweetens the pot,” Toth says.

He believes that the time is very much ripe to take advantage of what Q offers and get on the road to homeownership.

“A recent Zoocasa study points out that Calgary remains to be one of the most affordable cities to buy a home in North America,” Toth says.

Zoocasa, an on-line real estate firm, cites that media household income in Calgary — one of five Canadian cities It examined — was $30,128 above the minimum income needed to buy a home for Calgary homebuyers, which it pegged at
$42,885.

Zoocasa based calculations on the pretense that homebuyers would put forward a 20 percent downpayment and obtain a 30-year mortgage. Median household incomes and median home prices were taken from realtor.com in the US and local
Canadian real estate boards dating back to December.

Q standard features are already tops and Toth says it is the best possible scenario for buyers. These include heated underground parking with every unit, nine-foot ceilings, contemporary cabinetry, designer interior selections, stainless steel
appliances, and ultra-smart floor plans. All combine to make Q Condominiums the project of choice among the young and mature homebuyers.

“Living in the Q means not having to sacrifice on quality, affordability, or location. Q certainly has the stylish, contemporary design that Millennials like, but it is the lifestyle component where, in a sense, they live more in the community than in
their actual home that they will really find appealing. They can go out to the neighbourhood pub with their friends and not have to worry about driving back home, the grocery is just next door if they forget to buy milk, finding a place for a
quick bite will always be easy. It’s a complete lifestyle package at an affordable price,” Toth says. First possessions are expected in early 2021.
