Lisa Feist, director of sales and marketing for Medican Developments, says that living in Millrise means that residents have many great amenities available to them. “This is a very amenity-rich area,” says Feist. “It’s within walking distance to get groceries or have coffee at the Starbucks, and it’s close to restaurants, cafes, and all sorts of shops and stores.” In addition to these great amenities, Canvas at Millrise is only minutes from Fish Creek Provincial Park, walking trails and lakes, golfing and other excellent outdoor experiences. As well, it has excellent access to Macleod Trail, Deerfoot Trail and the 22X; making it easy to get around town or even out of town for a leisurely Sunday drive or exciting day trip.

Canvas at Millrise consists of two four-storey buildings that represent four phases of development. This includes 159 units in each building, totalling 318 homes in all.

In addition to beautiful living spaces, Canvas at Millrise offers a separate amenities building that includes a lounge area, fitness facility, games room and sauna, sure to become the ideal venue for entertaining family and friends, and a great place to forge new friendships. There are also two large courtyards where residents can enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings.

Feist says buyers are not only attracted to the courtyards, but also to the aesthetics of the buildings, themselves. “The really nice thing about the architecture is that it is Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired,” says Feist. “The buildings have low-pitched roofs and the exterior specifications include dark hues of hardy plank, as opposed to vinyl, and cultured slate.” For those unfamiliar with his work, the renowned architect influenced the entire course of architecture and building on an international level, developing a series of highly-individualized styles over his 72-year career. Masters in their own right, local firm Poon McKenzie Architects have managed to capture the essence of distinction with the contemporary architecture of Canvas at Millrise.

Inside, there are eight different floor plans to choose from, ranging from 597 to 929 square-feet incorporating one-bedroom, one-bedroom-plus-den, and two-bedroom floor plans. Feist says that there are lots of upgrade options to choose from, and the interior is as attractive as the exterior. “The interior specifications of Canvas at Millrise include some great colour schemes,” she says. “The colour palettes are very well put together by interior designers here in Calgary.” She also explains that the floor plans are open-concept designs with some of the plans utilizing the California-split style, which consists of the two bedrooms being located on opposite ends of the floor plan—allowing for greater privacy. One of the other notable features is an extended breakfast bar, which utilizes the kitchen space very well.

Feist says the Botticelli is one of the most popular floor plans, adding people seem to especially like its walk-in pantry in the kitchen. Meanwhile, some really great features have been sewn into Canvas suites from stainless steel appliances and stacked washers and dryers to lofty nine-foot ceilings, and radiant baseboard heating, just to name a few.

The final 100 units have been recently released, and Feist predicts, with less than a third of the Canvas inventory remaining, these ones will also go quickly.  CL
