What’s not to love?
Talking about Valentine’s Day sure has a way of putting people in an amorous spirit. Although there are those who think it’s just a made-up commercial holiday to benefit greeting card makers, I count myself as a romantic fool who doesn’t give in to cynicism too much. Which could explain my rose-tinted choices for articles this month — not the least of which are visits to three of Calgary’s most romantic condos.
Our cover feature, Wildstone by Rockford, puts a loving spin on the townhome, with its comfy setting in the popular Panorama Hills area that is shaping to be one of Calgary’s hottest real estate properties this year. You’ll also fall in love with Treo at Marda Loop by Intergulf-Cidex, the new mixed-use building in the heart of this vibrant community is sure getting plenty of notice from singles, couples and empty-nesters.
Meanwhile, Midtown by Pointe of View shows how Calgary is climbing out of the economic abyss, as it was one of the first developments to shut down during the darkest days of the recession, and is now again open and doing brisk business.
Our condo lifestyle article features the unconditional love between a dog and its owner, and tells a lesson on why it’s important to pay attention to home insurance.
Valentine’s Day in Calgary has never been rosier with the dining and entertainment venues we list in our theme feature. We carry our Valentine’s theme further, as we count down our personal choice in romantic movies in our Gadgets story (not very gadget-y but gives us a chance to hear from our readers). L. Sara Bysterfeld also gets in the act with ‘green’ ways to show your love on Valentine’s Day.
We also cover the year ahead for Urban Development Institute — Calgary and its involvement with local government in implementing the controversial Plan It strategy in plotting the city’s growth.
Last but not least, we show our love to the Calgary Home + Garden Show which brings its spring 2010 event with all the pomp and glamour and home improvement tips that we have come to expect from the show.
So I ask, what’s not to love? Everything’s turning up roses.
