Sharing the spotlight this month is our salute to the SAMs, the Canadian Home Builders’ Association—Calgary Region’s annual awards of excellence in home building. From apartment-style; to townhomes and villas; to builder of the year; we’ve got the complete list of winners.

And, since the snow is finally gone (for good, I hope), we take a look at some yard and garden items whose time has come. From a mini-greenhouse, to bird feeders, watering cans and sprinkler timers, our Gadgets pictorial looks at things to help your garden grow—and look good. Still with the outdoor theme, our Focus On photo spread heats up the pages as we go shopping for fire pits, while L. Sara Bysterveld’s Going Green column takes on eco-friendly lawn care.

This month’s condo features are concentrated on the city centre, with the front cover spotlight being turned on Battistella’s Colours project. Other articles showcase The Montana by Procura, another highrise project; and the Tweed condominiums located just off 17th Avenue S.W. in the beltline.
