Streetside Sales Sizzle

Jim Zang

There’s a lot of condos going up in Calgary right now, and there’s a few developers with multiple projects on the go, but nobody with more than Streetside Development Corporation.

“Currently, we have a total of six active projects in the Calgary and Okotoks areas,” says Kendra Milne, marketing coordinator for Streetside. “Tucker Hill, Red Haus, Robson, Blue Sky, 3101 Varsity and Latitude at Royal Oak.”

According to Milne, Tucker Hill is currently home to 62 residents and is nearly half sold (of a total 136 units).  A selection of bungalow villas (duplex and triplex style) is available starting in the low $300,000s.
Currently, crews are cribbing and framing the units located at the southwest end of the community. Construction of the barbecue common area, pathways and other landscaping will progress through the summer months.

Over at Red Haus, a limited number of one and two bedroom suites remain for sale in the first building, with possessions scheduled to begin in the late fall of this year.

Construction crews are working on the exterior finishing of the first building, including installation of the signature red concrete roof tiles.

The news is also good at Robson, where “We have met our 60 per cent pre-sales goal,” says Wendy Jabusch, Streetside’s Sales Manager.  Construction is underway and is proceeding according to schedule.  It is anticipated for sales to resume in early 2007, upon completion of framing and drywalling of the building.

“Phases 1 through 4 and 6 are sold out at Blue Sky,” says Milne. Construction continues right on track in phase 6, including framing, roofing, elevator installation and landscaping.  Phase 5 construction and sales are anticipated to start later this year.

“3101 Varsity is also sold out,” says Milne of the 24 unit apartment condominium project located near the University of Calgary. Construction is on schedule and crews are actively framing the project, with possessions to begin later this year.

Sales of townhomes in Latitude at Royal Oak are limited, says Milne, with units released as construction allows.  Right now, there’s a waiting list for the sale of the remaining units as they become available. It’s expected the community will be fully occupied by early 2007.

So with all this on the go who’s got time for anything else? Streetside, that’s who.

“We’re actively working on development of several new multi-family condominium communities in Calgary and surrounding area,” says Milne.

“Specifically in 2006, we anticipate construction and sales to begin on a new four-storey, 145 unit apartment condominium community in Crystal Greens (Okotoks), as well as a new 24 unit townhome community in Royal Oak named Plaza - Royal Oak.”

And, of course, there’s the final phase at Blue Sky (phase 5), featuring 27 single car garage townhomes in the community of Rocky Ridge.
