The X Factor

Pepper Rodriguez

X-mas comes early for Xenex, as the stunning new condominium development was honoured with multiple triumphs in the recent SAM Awards-spurring renewed interest in the 18-storey project in the heart of downtown Calgary.

Only a third of the building’s 150 units are left for sale, and interest is picking up for the project that designates its various floor plans with an X.

Xenex and its developer, Bucci Developments Ltd., took home four awards at this year’s SAM Awards gala hosted by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Calgary Region.

Bucci took the coveted Multi-Family Builder of the Year, two of Xenex’s suites —the X2 and the X5—won design awards, while its X14 show suite was picked as the best apartment-style concrete-and-steel condominium in the city.

The X14 show suite is a stunner. Sitting in a corner location one floor off street level, the 1,174-square-foot X14, priced at $471,397 with GST, has two bedrooms and two full baths. Its stately demeanor is enhanced by the granite countertops and backsplashes that combine glass tile and subway tile.

But it is the floor-to-ceiling window wall that is the real showstopper, allowing tons of natural light to illuminate the interior and letting owners partake in the beauty of the cityscape.

What’s even better is that prices at Xenex—from studio suites to penthouses—have been adjusted with a new starting point from the $220,000s, including GST.
