Chalet. Say the word and the image that immediately comes to mind is one of a cosy European-styled cottage tucked into the side of a mountain, wood crackling in the fireplace; perhaps with a young couple all snuggled-up in front of it, glasses of red wine in hand.

Mmm. Sounds pretty good doesn’t it? Well, the idea must have seemed pretty good to the designers at Sabal Crafted Homes too, as they’ve launched two Chalet condominium in the city with their official ground-breaking party.

To be located in Creekside in the north and Copperfield in the south, these townhomes definitely evoke that homey European feel – minus the mountain. Plans call for 103 townhomes to be built in Creekside and 100 in Copperfield.

“Phase One sold out in three days,” says Chalet’s sales and marketing specialist Brenda Kelly. Phase Two is also sold out and they’re now moving into Phase Three, the final phase, with just 37 homes left for sale in the north and 33 in the south development.

Suites come in three main sizes, 18-, 20- and 24-feet wide – and range in size from 1,256-square-feet to 1,753-square-feet, with five available floor plans. In Copperfield, the 24-foot condos feature three bedrooms and walk-out basements backing onto a large green space and decorative pond. Prices start from about $275,000. For more information visit the sales centre on McIvor Boulevard (just north of Marquis of Lorne Trail on 52nd Street S.E.), or check out the website at http://www.sabalchalet.com.
