Bow Developments begins construction for their fist major multi-family development, Scarboro 17, which can be seen as a giant victory for the underdog developer and its resilience facing the toughest housing market that Calgary has seen in 40 years.

Bow Development’s owner, Jason Smith, says despite launching in 2017 — at the height of the most trying period in Calgary’s recent economic history — Scarboro 17 was able to pull through and keep its promise to its initial buyers and the City.

“We will be starting construction this June, and it is a testament to the strength and positivity and innovation of our team that we were able to set this achievement,” he tells Around Town.

There are only 25 units left in the 52-unit Scarboro 17 that is going up in 1702 17 Avenue S.W. Price for a one-bedroom suite is from the $290,000s and two-bedrooms are from the $400,000s.
